Magnificent floor to ceiling windows bring the outside in with enviable views of the Malvern Hills. If you are lucky enough to stay on Bonfire Night, the hills light up, glitter and sparkle all evening, it’s rather unique and special. Don’t worry if it’s a chilly evening either, as the underfloor heating and huge wood burner will keep you all toasty and warm inside. Upstairs you will find 5 sumptuous bedrooms, with the finest linens and deepest mattresses for the perfect night’s sleep. No fighting over the bathrooms either with two family bathrooms on hand.
Should you want to get out and explore, just a 10-minute drive is the market town of Ledbury, where you will find an array of independent coffee shops, local produce and handful of traditional pubs. Weston Cider is worth a visit, the kids can play at the adventure park whilst you sample and pick a tipple or two for the fridge. Don’t forget to pack your walking boots as Malvern Spa is just 7 miles up the road with its picturesque walks over the Malvern Hills and many bohemian independent shops. The cathedral city of Gloucester is just a short drive in the other direction, with its Victorian docks and designer retail outlet.
For some thrill-seeking adventures head to the Forest of Dean with its cycle tracks, and high rope Go Ape attraction (20 minutes away) with the Treetop Challenge and Forest Segways. Canoeing is within 30 minutes with the glorious Symonds Yat on the River Wye. Kayaking and paddle boarding also available at the Forest of Dean. Visit Eastnor Castle with family events include steam days, have a go at archery and circus days. Steam railways close by, and caving and off road driving for the thrill seekers too.

The historic town of Tewkesbury with its famous abbey, Westonbirt Arboretum, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Roman city of Bath, Regency Cheltenham and the cathedral cities of Bristol and Gloucester with their historic docks are also close by. You will also find all the essentials too, such as green grocers for picking up your organic produce, a butchers for some fine local produce for cooking up a hearty meal for all. Why not take a trip to the family run Winner Hill Vineyard, to pick up a sparkling white to accompany your dinner. It is said by many that it’s just as good as some of the best French bottles. You can even make an afternoon of it and partake in some tasting for a fun day out. A little further beyond, you will find Tetbury is 10 miles away, and Bath and Bristol are both 20 miles. Badminton is 5 miles and Berkeley Castle, Wildfowl Trust at Slimbridge and Westonbirt Arboretum all within easy distance. Golf can also be found nearby. Beach 21 miles. You might like to jump on the train and head 45-minutes away to Cardiff for shopping and dining out. For a great day out, be sure to visit Gloucester Cathedral, a must see for Harry Potter fans! Or for a change of pace enjoy some shopping in Cheltenham or Bristol.
Other outdoor activities include canoeing at Symonds Yat, walking through Clearwell Caves hidden under the forest floor and Go Ape at Beechenhurst. The dining area has a double fronted wood burner and can be seen from both the dining area and living room. The large living room features patio doors leading to the garden, a Smart TV and wood burner, again with beams and exposed stone walls. On the first floor there is a super kingsize bedroom with zip and link bed, a twin room, and a family bathroom with roll-top bath and a shower cubicle.

Flyby Cottage Is situated in English Bicknor in the Forest of Dean, being an ideal property for friends or family looking to explore this beautiful part of England. The ground floor includes a bathroom with bath and electric shower over, as well as a living room with Freeview TV. To the first floor you’ll find a twin room and a double room, as well as a separate toilet. At the front of the cottage, you will find the snug, a cosy second sitting room with plenty of games and books to enjoy. The local areas have fascinating history and heritage and cycling enthusiasts will find plenty of cycle trails. Bike hire is only 1 mile from the cottage. There are also two fantastic pubs within walking distance. Nearby our guests can enjoy Symonds Yat Rock, Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, Stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, Go Ape and many more activities. There is good fishing, RSPB reserves, riding, golf and tennis. This delightful semi-detached barn is set in a tranquil setting in a village on the edge of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. Based on a small working farm that is steeped in history dating back to the late 10th century and with views over open countryside and backing onto an impressive village church it makes it the perfect rural getaway.
You will a number of rambling paths and the Cotswolds Way on your door step. Jump in the car and within twenty minutes you will find the historic towns of Gloucester where parts of Harry Potter films were made in the imposing Gloucester Cathedral and also the chic spa town of Cheltenham wits its impressive shopping, restaurants and buzzing bar scene.
The barn offers an open plan sitting room/diner, kitchen and two large bedrooms with original beams. It also has its own private hot tub which is available until 31st October 2024, and courtyard where you can sit and watch the sun go down while enjoying a barbecue with your family and friends.
