Forest Lodge is situated in an idyllic setting in a quiet corner of the New Forest, enjoying direct forest access which is home to an abundance of wildlife. Stabling and grazing are available for 2 horses on site, with prior arrangement with the owner and there is a grassy children’s play area with football goalposts, rugby posts and other games. The New Forest National Park offers thousands of acres of moor, heath and woodlands, where ponies and cattle roam free, and is perfect for walking, cycling and riding. You may also see wild deer, foxes, badgers and rabbits. The New Forest is a genuine walker’s paradise and also a fantastic place for cycling, with miles of traffic free tracks. Farm shops, pubs, tea rooms, an excellent restaurant and a church are within 5 minutes of the property. There is a riding school nearby offering hacks across the forest for both the beginner and more experienced rider. Forest Lodge is 4 miles from the market towns of Ringwood and Fordingbridge, and 12 miles from the historic city of Salisbury, with its magnificent cathedral and tallest spire in the UK. The coastal resorts and sandy beaches of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are approximately 15 miles away. Coarse fishing is available on the nearby River Avon. As the name suggests, Drovers Cottage was formerly a place of rest for drovers (modern day livestock transporters), who travelled hundreds and hundreds of miles with their animals and needed somewhere to rest. The group of fir trees, which still remain to this day, were an easily recognisable landmark even from afar. The fields surrounding the cottage are of archaeological interest, as they were used as Roman camps and often oyster shells can be found, these were brought in barrels from the coast for the Roman warriors to eat, and they tossed the shells into the fields.
Having been totally renovated, Drovers Cottage offers tasteful and well-presented accommodation, and is within easy walking distance to the quaint thatched-roof village, with its shop, beautiful church and two pubs serving good food. This picturesque village is steeped in history, it has a bronze burial in the parish, which dates back to 2000BC. The village was part of the Royal Manor, belonging first to King Alfred the Great, then later William the Conqueror, which is recorded in the Domesday Book.

You can visit Mudeford Spit and get the boat across to Hengistbury Head Beach, which is home to fantastic beach huts, it is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Here you can hire bikes to cycle around and take part in a variety of water sports.
The New Forest National Park, with its free roaming ponies, donkeys, and cattle, has numerous villages and towns within the area with independent shops, cafés, and pubs that are well worth a visit. Garden Cottage 1 is one of two self-catering properties situated within the owners’ beautiful gardens. Garden Cottage 1 is a cosy ground floor holiday home surrounded by rolling countryside situated in between the town of Haslemere and the village of Liphook. Sleeping two, it has a bedroom with kingsize bed, and a lovely bathroom with bath and shower over. Looking out to the garden is a light and airy open plan kitchen/diner and living room/conservatory with everything you could need for a very comfortable break away including full kitchen and Smart TV.
The cottage is located on the edge of the much prized village of Bramshott just 2 miles from Liphook village offering a range of local shopping, including a supermarket and mainline station. The larger village of Grayshott is 3 miles away offering an extensive collection of day to day shopping needs including a popular butcher and independent vintner, doctor’s surgery, two mini supermarkets and a collection of restaurants and a public house. Haslemere also 5 miles away with a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs.
There is so much on offer in this beautiful part of the south of England with the Goodwood Estate world known for its racing, golfing and horse racing and home to the famous Festival of Speed and Revival, Cowdray Estate for polo, golf at Liphook and sailing off the south coast at Chichester and Emsworth Harbour. Bramshott borders Surrey and Hampshire with excellent walking, cycling and riding opportunities across Frensham Great and Little Pond and also across nearby countryside including Waggoners Wells, Bramshott Common, Ludshott Common, Passfield Common and The Devil’s Punchbowl. The South Downs are also nearby.

Situated in small, charming village of Alverstoke in the borough of Gosport. Windbrake House is just a 10-minute walk from the village where there is a convenience shop, a post office, a Chinese restaurant and take-away, fish and chip shop, hairdressers and gift shop. There is a south facing garden to the front of the property, and the owner thoughtfully provides complimentary toiletries. There is an excellent bistro on the front at Stokes Bay which serves home cooked food at reasonable prices with big portions!

There is always something to see at Stokes Bay. The Solent, between the Isle of Wight and Stokes Bay, is used by all manner of boats, ships and water sports including Cowes Week, naval reviews, cruise liners, America’s Cup, P1 Powerboat racing, Fast Net departure and American aircraft carriers, to name a few!

Stoke’s Bay also has two cafés as well as a wine bar and a free splash park for children. There is also a leisure centre and ice-rink a short drive away. It takes 7 minutes to drive to Gosport harbour front where there is a long-stay car park (at cost) and with a return passenger ferry ticket across Portsmouth Harbour you can soon spend a quality day at either the naval dockyard or at Gunwharf Quays, a retail outlet with many designer stores, restaurants, bowling alley and multi-screen cinema and Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower, both located close to the ferry terminal.
From Portsmouth Harbour there are fabulous views to be enjoyed on a promenade to Southsea and Old Portsmouth where you can enjoy excellent pubs beside the fish market whilst watching the fishing boats or catch the hovercraft to the Isle of Wight.
