    Seaport Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to four guests across two bedrooms and is dog friendly too, ideal for two couples or a family without small children. Located close to the seafront between Ventnor and Bonchurch, it’s situated on the southern side of the Isle of Wight, right in the heart of the famous Undercliff, much of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
    The cottage has an interesting multi-tiered garden to its side and rear with steep stairs that climbs upwards into the hill behind it, at the top tier of the garden there is a summerhouse where you can choose to sit within or perch yourself outside on the patio, and enjoy the fabulous panoramic views over the English Channel. Internally the accommodation comprises of a ground floor cloakroom, kitchen, open plan dining/living area whilst upstairs there is the family bathroom, a double room and a twin room with zip and link beds that can be pushed together to create a super king on request.
    The location and cottage offer truly great views out to sea and it is a short walk down to Wheelers Bay, the fisherman’s cottages and Ventnor’s popular sandy beach. Ventnor town and esplanade is just over half a mile walk away from Seaport Cottage. Here you will find a number of lovely seaside tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the seafront, including the well-known Spyglass Inn. There are also some quirky and bespoke shops, an award winning park and a children’s paddling pool. The town, which for the most part is built on the steep hill leading to the beach retains its original seaside charm and makes a great day out for all the family. Sheltered from the north by St. Boniface Downs, Ventnor benefits from its own micro-climate, providing an ideal haven for a variety of flora and fauna.
    The neighbouring village of Bonchurch lies just to the east of Ventnor and is renowned for its literary connections; writers and poets such as Dickens, Stackpole and Swinburn all resided here at some point in time. Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions for all ages across the island including The Needles with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay.     For guests choosing to visit the island without their car, a favourable way to reach the property is to take the Wightlink Fast Cat service to Ryde Pier head and then the train to Sandown Station, which is less than a mile from the property. The island has become a real hot spot for cycling enthusiasts, with a choice of challenging off-road bridleways, peaceful byways and level purpose-made tracks running along former railway lines. You can cycle across the width of the island to the famous Needles landmark, or try the full round the island route, which is 66 miles long and is used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee held over the bank holiday in May.
    Sandown is a truly traditional British beach resort with pier, amusements, pitch ’n’ putt, Isle of Wight Zoo, children’s play area and the Dinosaur Isle attraction at the northern end of the esplanade towards Yaverland and Culver Cliff.

Perfect for a family of three, this two-bedroom detached cottage is set on 3 acres of land and has a large pond in the back garden, please be careful with pets and young children as there is no fence for the pond and the garden is not enclosed. There is an enclosed dog walking fields next door to the property. There is also a paddock within the grounds, and on Wednesdays there is a lady who uses the summer house for sound therapy sessions.
    On the ground floor you will find a large living/dining room complete with Smart TV and wood burner. The kitchen is fully equipped and has an electric Aga, you can also make use of the Nespresso coffee maker. There is a winding staircase to the first floor with height restrictions at the bottom and steep steps leading to a master bedroom and second bedroom with a single bed.     Locally, the pretty town offers many amenities, shops, restaurants, inns, golf and a leisure centre with large swimming pool. The Test Valley, known for its fishing and walking, The Test Way and The Clarendon Way are all nearby. For keen gardeners, visit the world-famous Hilliers Arboretum, or the nearby Mottisfont. Broadlands and Romsey Abbey are also close by. Mill Lane Meadows Nature Reserve is also one to see.
    The area has plenty of attractions for all ages, within easy reach are Paultons Park, Marwell Zoo, the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, and maritime history at Southampton, where you can take a ferry to the Isle of Wight. The New Forest is a short drive away, which covers almost 145 square miles. It is situated within the charming rural village of Whitwell, towards the southern side of the Isle of Wight, approximately 3 miles north west of the seaside town of Ventnor. The area is a firm favourite with cyclists, walkers and ramblers due to its close proximity to the southern most tip of the island, with an ever-changing coastal landscape boasting breathtaking panoramic views and a wealth of wildlife.
    The open plan living and dining space means you can cook up those home-cooked recipes and then gather the family for an evening in front of the 50" Smart TV.
