There is a private hot tub at The Cottage, and the property offers 2 games rooms, 1 in the house with children’s toys, a library, games and 2 table football tables. There is a large, second games room in the garage next to the house which offers a number of activities including: table tennis, pool table, darts, bows and arrows, basketball (outside the garage). These games rooms also feature a kitchenette with a fridge, and seating area with a large sofa, ideal for all ages. Please note this games room is not heated.
A decked terrace runs the length of the property, an ideal spot for soaking up the sun or relax after a brisk winter walk in front of a glowing log burner in the cosy living room, overlooking the frothing waves. Four of the six bedrooms have sea views and the other two have attractive garden views.
The white chalk cliff above St Margaret’s Bay is said to be the first place the sun reaches each morning on mainland Britain! The beach is famous for being the closest point to France and is the spot where Channel swimmers begin their marathon 21 mile swim.
The village itself offers good pubs, restaurants and local shop within walking distance. The coastal path leads to the famous White Cliffs of Dover, gateway to England and now one of the UK’s protected Heritage coasts offering some of the best cliff coastal walking in the country. The lighthouse is the place where Marconi transmitted his first radio broadcast to France. Closer to France than London, bring a passport, catch a ferry from Dover and visit the French markets in Calais and Boulogne for the day.

"Dating back to 1652, these two properties were originally part of a working dairy farm and offer a wonderful location, next to the owners’ home, in the coastal town of Margate. Farm Cottage (ref W43578) is a quaint, semi-detached, converted farmhouse comfortably sleeping 4 guests, and has been renovated to a good standard. Guests can enjoy access to a good-sized garden, an open plan living/dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a small chalk cave which is characteristic of the area and which the owners are happy to show guests around.
Stable Cottage (ref UKC3922), complete with its stable door, adjoins the owners’ converted farmhouse and is ideally suited to couples. This holiday cottage was renovated in 2018 to a good standard, retaining some original features including an exposed wall in the living room. Guests can enjoy access to a garden at the front of the cottage.
A short stroll from the properties will take you into the coastal town of Margate where local attractions include the famous Turner Gallery, Margate Old Town and Shell Grotto. Catch a band at the Winter Gardens or hop on a retro ride at Dreamland. Take a boat trip and spot seals on the sandbanks, or cycle the Viking Coastal Trail, one of the most attractive leisure cycle routes in Kent, covering 27 miles. A short drive will take you to Broadstairs, home to Viking Bay, with several fantastic walks, or why not visit Ramsgate Royal Harbour?
Broadstairs Folk Week takes place on the first weekend in August every year and it is only a 20-minute bus ride from the cottage. Don’t miss out on a trip to the historic city of Canterbury, with its dominating city walls and incredible cathedral. Stable Cottage and Farm Cottage deliver a coastal destination all year round, offering lots of heritage and culture to discover and explore. Beach ½ mile. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Ideally situated for exploring Canterbury and the surrounding countryside, this two storey holiday property is a completely self contained part of the owner’s home in a residential area. It comprises a living/dining room with a cosy wood burner for additional heating on cooler evenings, and a well equipped kitchen all on the ground floor. There are many castles in Kent, all worthy of a visit. Hever Castle, built in the 13th century, is double moated and has award winning gardens. Dover Castle was founded in the 11th century, and Leeds Castle and Whitstable Castle are also worth a visit. Whilst in Whitstable, why not try the oysters. There is even an annual oyster festival held in the town!.
Alternative days out include Port Lympne Zoo and Howlett’s Zoo, and if you want a day off from site seeing, why not spend a day on one of the many beaches to be found around the Kent coastline. A stone’s throw from the Royal Military canal, where you can explore by water, with rowing boats and kayaks to hire. Wander down the cobbled and historic high street dotted with independent shops, quaint tea rooms and cafés, and a great choice of restaurants to explore, just a few minutes’ walk from Hydrangea House, you couldn’t be in a better position to explore all that Hythe has to offer.

This beautifully presented and spacious period house has been stylishly updated to offer the perfect country home for larger families or groups and has an additional self-contained annex. Originally an Edwardian gatehouse, Cryals Lodge was re-designed and renovated with indoor and outdoor entertaining in mind; added features include a Finnish barbecue hut. The property sits within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by apple orchards and rolling countryside.

Entering Cryals Lodge via the porch/boot room, a second glazed door leads into the large reception hall, with a striking galleried landing, skylights and large seated/entertaining area. The hall features traditional oak parquet flooring and a balustrade staircase rising up to the first floor. A ‘den’ featuring a Smart TV and gaming console is just off the hall. The living room has a parquet floor, bespoke fitted oak cupboards, a cosy dual-aspect (to the hall), glazed gas fire and wide bi-folding doors opening out to a decked ‘outdoor lounge.’ There is a generously proportioned family kitchen/breakfast room with corian work tops, a central island unit/breakfast bar, walnut veneered cupboards and fitted Neff appliances. The dining room, open plan to the kitchen, is presented in a period style with louvred shutters and features a large oak dining table seating 10-12. The galleried landing on the first floor features a cushioned window seat enjoying a view over the garden and on to the orchards beyond. The master bedroom suite has a dressing room and a well-appointed en-suite shower room. There are four further bedrooms, two sharing a shower room, and a stylish family bathroom.
