There is a vast array of walks and cycling routes around the area, guests are welcome to bring bikes and store them in the cycle storage area. Littlestone-on-Sea is a small coastal village close to New Romney in Kent. It was established in the 1880s by Sir Robert Perks as a resort for the gentry, at the point of the local lifeboat station. At low tide a World War II Mulberry Harbour Phoenix breakwater is visible along the coast; the caisson was unable to be re-floated as part of the post D-Day harbour construction in Normandy, so was abandoned. The nature of the Phoenix breakwaters meant they were constructed and sunk until needed (so as to be invisible to air attack); by design they would have had the water evacuated by Royal Engineers and then been towed to France where they would have become part of the harbour. The nearest main town is Ashford which also houses an outlet. Excellent travel links with the motorway and rail services to London and Europe. The old town of Tenterden has a bustling high street full of various little shops of interest with a bus service from Woodchurch and steam trains running from Tenterden to Bodium. Faversham is a beautiful market town very close by. Pool House is only a 5-minute stroll to the village of Teynham and all its amenities.

Our cottage dates back to the 1800s and boasts plenty of character and original features, with exposed beams in most rooms, along with a double-sided fireplace in the cosy living/dining room for those cooler evenings. The well equipped kitchen looks out over the garden and patio area. There’s also a utility room with washing machine and additional cupboard space, along with the downstairs toilet. Upstairs offers three good-sized bedrooms, and the master bathroom has a feature roll-top bath. A perfect room to relax and unwind in after a walk through the Kent countryside.
This delightful cottage is set in the quiet rural hamlet of Rolvenden Layne. The market town of Tenterden is only 3½ miles away, which offers a range of shops, small cafés, restaurants and bars. If you like walking, there is a public footpath that runs from Rolvenden Layne to Tenterden through fields, down to the river and over the railway line, approx 5½ miles.

Leading into the fully equipped kitchen, you will find everything required to rustle up a meal for family or friends, which can be enjoyed on the perfectly situated table and chairs in the middle of the open plan room. The country style kitchen oozes warmth and creates a homely atmosphere. Take the stairs to reveal two immaculately presented bedrooms on the first floor; one with a kingsize bed which can be split into two singles, and a double room both with plenty of storage space. The family bathroom can also be found on the first floor which boasts a shower, toilet and basin. There is a second toilet and basin downstairs. The rear doors lead out onto the patio, which then takes you to the stunning garden with a small pond. Together with the outside furniture and the charcoal barbeque (charcoal not supplied) this is a gorgeous space to dine al fresco and to enjoy the countryside sun. There is also a summer house complete with kids’ games table and dart board.
