Sittingbourne has some good transport links allowing for guests to explore the surrounding areas such as Canterbury, famous for its cathedral and shopping precinct as well as its historic landmarks. Visit Seasalter and Whitstable for those seaside trips and traditional fish and chips or even fresh local oysters. With plenty of walks and things to explore locally the choice is yours for which adventure to pursue!

From the moment you pull up to the large double gates and park on the full fronted drive, to entering the spacious well decorated and furnished house, it is lovely! Each room offers comfort and space to enjoy with family or friends, with a real gas flame fire in the living room and a smart TV for chilling out in front of after a long day exploring Deal’s castles and beaches. The property has plenty of little surprises from a nice quiet well-stocked library room, a hidden downstairs toilet and utility room to a large family garden big enough for football, tennis and many other outdoor games. Being built around 1904 the property has high ceilings and lavish features dotted around the house still for guests to enjoy.

Located on the border of Kent, London and Essex, Dartford is one of the most exciting and dynamic towns in the county and shopaholics will find plenty to occupy themselves at Bluewater Shopping Centre, which is within easy reach. In Dartford itself you can find many local gems, including regular markets on Thursdays and Saturdays and farmers’ markets in the third Friday of every month. Multiple London mainline stations less than an hour away and Gravesend is 15 minutes away, where you can hop on a high-speed train to London St Pancreas or Ashford International.
Dartford is also well-connected to the Medway Towns and has plenty to offer as a town with religious and cultural importance with its many charming churches and museums. Bluewater Shopping Centre, one of the largest malls in Europe, is a major attraction nearby. Catch a bus from Dartford centre to reach the Bluewater mall east of town, browse more than 300 stores, then enjoy the mall’s many attractions. Play mini golf and ride pedalos on a man-made lake at the Pirate Cove Adventure Park. Parents can take a break at the Bluewater mall’s day spam, then head back into Dartford to visit The Mick Jagger Centre, which hosts community arts performances and live music concerts. Hythe to the east and Hastings to the west are both worth a visit.

This lovely and homely four-bedroom family home is located on the outskirts of Canterbury city centre in the popular area of St Dunstan’s with a picturesque open green opposite. The property is in an ideal position with something for everyone. Within a 5-minute walk you can reach St Dunstan’s Street which has a plethora of restaurants, pubs, bakeries, wine and gin bars, the Westgate Gardens (where you can hop on a punting trip) leads to Toddlers Cove, which is a fantastic children’s play area. There is also a cycle path that takes you through beautiful countryside that follows the river Stour. Transport links are very convenient, a bus route a few minutes walk away takes you to the popular seaside town of Whitstable. Canterbury West Train Station, ten minutes away on foot takes you to London in 45 minutes. You may also wish to hop on the train to the next village of Sturry (a 4-minute ride) where you will be able to amble through Britain’s smallest town of Fordwich. You can go for stunning walks, take part in organised paddle boarding, canoeing or refresh yourself at the pub. You may also wish to treat yourself to a two Michelin star meal at the Fordwich Arms.

Canterbury has so much to offer from the world-famous cathedral steeped in fascinating historical references, city walls and other beautiful architecture, to the busy city centre shopping precinct set across a variety of cobbled streets and modern newly built outlets to peruse including the city’s very first roof top restaurant. For dining out, you can pretty much find every type of food from across the world and a large selection of boutique shops, which can be found on the street running parallel to the high street. There is also a large choice of traditional pubs dating back hundreds of years, bars and cafés too. Guest feedback is that the property is a ’home from home, where they instantly feel relaxed, is in an excellent location and provides a very central base for exploring the wider surrounding areas of Dover, Sandwich, Whitstable and Folkstone.
The property was decorated throughout in 2022 and is equipped with everything you could imagine making for a perfect holiday. The south west facing garden is a very good size, patio furniture, and a shady area to enjoy your morning coffee is provided along with barbecue, a few garden toys and fire pit. The owner has thoughtfully provided a baby/toddler bath and a rubber shower hose that can be run off the kitchen tap. Two dogs are also welcome, treats, leads, water/food bowls are provided for each dog along with print outs of local recommended walks.
