The friendly village pub is within a minutes’ walk and a footpath meandering through woodland taking you as far the locally renowned Boathouse at Yalding where either a cool drink, spot of lunch or the adventurous watersports centre awaits. And if you fancy jumping into the car for a day out, there is plenty nearby waiting to be explored. Historic Leeds Castle and Sissinghurst Castle Gardens are both a 30-minute drive away. Beautiful Tunbridge Wells and the bustling towns of Tonbridge and Maidstone are all within 20 minutes.

Situated on the North Downs, Denmark House the perfect place to spend time with family and friends. The property has been a successful world class residential recording studio for many years, and now, after extensive renovations, we have now opened our doors for short term lettings. The studio is available on request, and we also have on-site an equestrian centre and café, where you can book riding lessons and hacks. On the ground floor, the main living area is a light, spacious and open plan living, kitchen and dining areas, with a large open fire place. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, including a 7-burner range cooker. The ground floor also contains a second iving room in the studio section, there are also two double bedrooms and a shower room with toliet. You’ll be located just outside the quiet village of Bluebell Hill, with stunning views and walks on your doorstop. There is a great pub down the road, and the village of Maidstone is just 10 minutes away by car. You can even be in London for a night out within 50 minutes. As we do have neighbours we do ask that you are in from the garden by 9.00pm and when outside you are mindful of your noise levels and language. The property is situated in land classed as SSSI (a Special Site of Scientific Interest), and you can enjoys miles and miles of fantastic walk and views.
The county town of Kent has excellent retail stores, pubs, clubs, coffee shops, cinemas and restaurants. Local areas of interest are Mote Park (set in 450 acres and includes woodlands and lakes), Leeds Castle, Chatham Historic Dockyard, Maidstone Museum and numerous golf courses. Nearby towns include Sevenoaks, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Rochester, West Malling, Folkestone, Dover and Whitstable. Brighton is only a 45-minute drive away! You are spoilt for choice if you want to go shopping, with the Bluewater shopping centre is a short 20-minute drive away, and Ashford Outlet Centre is 30-minutes away. Both are accessible by local public transport. If you wanted to go further afield and had your passport handy, you could be in Paris in 2 hours as Ebbsfleet and Ashford International Station are only 20 minutes’ drive away. Beach 19½ miles.

Canterbury Cathedral, founded in 597 AD, is the headquarters of the Church of England and Anglican Communion, incorporating Gothic and Romanesque elements in its stone carvings and stained-glass windows. Canterbury is only 6 miles from the beaches of Herne Bay and Whitstable a tiny bit further allows you to indulge yourself in the golden sandy beaches of Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate too! Canterbury has a great mixed selection of culinary cuisines to choose from to visit from the traditional old-style English pub to your Michelin star restaurants and everything else in between. Herne Bay itself is loved by visitors for its long stretches of beach, cycle routes, iconic pier, independent eateries, and boutique shops as well as its entertainment, concert hall, cinema, and arcades. Its legacy lingers in the Victorian bandstand, fragrant seafront gardens and distinctive 80ft Clock Tower. The Reculver Towers and Roman Fort can be seen to the east where 12th-century church towers sit amid the remains of a Roman ’Saxon Shore’ fort.

Herne Bay station is just moments from the property giving easy access to the surrounding coastal towns by rail and a direct route to London Victoria and Kings Cross, Dreamland Margate, Broadstairs and Whitstable. Just along the coast and 10 minutes by car Whitstable is renowned for its famous oysters and charming Crab and Winkle way cycle route from Whitstable Harbour.

"Dating back to 1652, these two properties were originally part of a working dairy farm and offer a wonderful location, next to the owners’ home, in the coastal town of Margate. Farm Cottage (ref W43578) is a quaint, semi-detached, converted farmhouse comfortably sleeping 4 guests, and has been renovated to a good standard. Guests can enjoy access to a good-sized garden, an open plan living/dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a small chalk cave which is characteristic of the area and which the owners are happy to show guests around.
Stable Cottage (ref UKC3922), complete with its stable door, adjoins the owners’ converted farmhouse and is ideally suited to couples. This holiday cottage was renovated in 2018 to a good standard, retaining some original features including an exposed wall in the living room. Guests can enjoy access to a garden at the front of the cottage.
A short stroll from the properties will take you into the coastal town of Margate where local attractions include the famous Turner Gallery, Margate Old Town and Shell Grotto. Catch a band at the Winter Gardens or hop on a retro ride at Dreamland. Take a boat trip and spot seals on the sandbanks, or cycle the Viking Coastal Trail, one of the most attractive leisure cycle routes in Kent, covering 27 miles. A short drive will take you to Broadstairs, home to Viking Bay, with several fantastic walks, or why not visit Ramsgate Royal Harbour?
Broadstairs Folk Week takes place on the first weekend in August every year and it is only a 20-minute bus ride from the cottage. Don’t miss out on a trip to the historic city of Canterbury, with its dominating city walls and incredible cathedral. For a car free holiday, the owners are happy to collect and deliver guests to and from the station, and for sightseeing trips, you can take the train into historic Canterbury. Enjoy views from the decking down the valley which is occasionally visited by herds of wild deer. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is an orchid conservation area, and makes a lovely place to visit in any season. For flower lovers, there are great gardens to visit nearby including the famous gardens at Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Bateman’s, Scotney Castle and Charleston. The town of Wye is 4 miles away and has a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs, with a farmers’ market every other Saturday. There are also two local pubs within walking distance. This is excellent walking terrain, and for the more daring, try hot air ballooning locally. Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile.
