For walkers and cyclists alike, join the Thanet Coast Viking Trail – part of route 15 of the National Cycle Trail, and no trip to Broadstairs would be complete without a visit to a seafront ice cream parlour and watching the dazzling fireworks on a summer evening.     Westgate is ideally located in the centre of Thanet, surrounded by villages and towns, with so much to see and do from bars, restaurants, boutique shops to beaches, plenty of walks and plenty of parks and scenery to take in. With more than adequate travel links via bus and trains you can explore Thanet day by day easily and locally within 30 minutes maximum travel. There is a wide promenade meandering towards Margate Sands in one direction and Minnis Bay via cliff roads and promenade in the opposite direction.
    A short 15-minute drive in the area can take you to Westwood Shopping area, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Reculver Towers Park. Historic Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable a little further. The Tourist Information is located next to Turners Contemporary Gallery along from Margate Main Sands with the usual holidaymaker attractions. Westgate has a good range of takeaway outlets, traditional fish and chips, Indian, Chinese, Greek, Thai, Turquish, pizzeria along with numerous good cafés. Westgate was originally a gated community and the architecture of many of the buildings reflect the Edwardian heritage.     Built in 1875, Hamilton Lodge is a Victorian house featuring its own elegant turret. Each room has been designed to have a different theme from a classic antique feel to modern contemporary.
    The Lodge is built over three floors with loads of space for between 12 and 15 guests, not counting babies and dogs. Many original features have been maintained, including the lead glass in the entrance hall which has been used as a colour scheme for the interior design. Breathtakingly high ceilings with beautiful chandeliers crown the reception rooms.
    The large sitting room is spacious and has comfortable seating to allow all guests to come together for movie nights, whilst the elegant library allows for some quiet space. The large open plan living space at the back of the house is ideal for socialising, cooking, dining and just chilling and chatting. The sliding doors open out onto the garden to create a large space for entertaining.
    On the upper floors, Hamilton Lodge has six bedrooms. Bedroom 1 boasting a rocking chair in the turret, and a chaise longue. The three bathrooms all have under floor heating and allow ample space and convenience for all guests. There are side sea views from some of the bedrooms, as the sea is just a few yards away.

    Manor Farmhouse dates back to Tudor times, with later Victorian additions. It is a fabulous, comfortable family home full of quirky original features and some uneven floors which all add to the charm and sense of history. The house is a lovely holiday home, perfect for holidays and short breaks all year round.
    The ground floor has a traditional large farmhouse kitchen, a comfortable sitting room with wood burner and a lovely large dining room which has a snooker table and piano, French doors leading to the patio and one-acre garden surrounded by mature trees and woodland. In addition to the laundry facilities in the utility room there are also children’s toys, buckets and spades, dog bed and bowl. Upstairs, set over two floors are six bedrooms, two with en-suite facilities, two separate bathrooms and a reading corner with armchair, and a landing with a library of books.
    The house has everything you will need for a fabulous holiday - there are books galore, DVDs, Wii games, snooker, the piano for family sing-a-longs, board games and garden games. You won’t want to leave!
    The farmhouse is located in the small hamlet of Little Mongeham (pronounced munjam!) and is a short drive to Deal which is a really vibrant seaside town. It has a long pier, a long stretch of beach, a pretty conservation area with lovely independent shops, and great restaurants and cafes. Sandwich is also a short drive, full of history and charm and home to two championship golf courses.
    The surrounding countryside is ideal for walkers and cyclists and the White Cliffs Trail passes by the farmhouse. This 28 mile circular walk passes through the towns of Dover, Deal and Sandwich, going along the famous ’white cliffs’ to the east of Dover to Deal with an inland return through the beautiful Kent countryside.
