Set beneath the rugged moors of the Pennines and on the edge of the Peak District National Park means nature enthusiasts will be delighted by the stunning landscapes that surround them. Lace up your hiking boots and embark on scenic trails through the rolling hills and verdant valleys of the nearby countryside. Saddleworth Moor, located just a short distance away, offers breathtaking views and a real opportunity to connect with nature and other nearby attractions such as the impressive Castleshaw Roman Forts and the iconic Standedge Tunnel provide fascinating glimpses into the region’s past.

Around an hour’s scenic journey across the moors will take you to the tourist hotspots of artsy Hebden Bridge and fabulous Haworth famous for its Bronte heritage. For those wanting to give their cars a rest Greenfield Train Station is a mere 15-minute walk, so whether you’re seeking relaxation, outdoor adventures, or cultural experiences, Co Operative Cottage offers the perfect base for exploring all that this captivating region has to offer. Acre Hill Lodge provides comfortable accommodation for up to six guests, and is all on one floor. Set on the edge of a working farm so there will be hens, ducks, cats and highland cattle around and with picturesque countryside views, the lodge provides everything you need to enjoy your time away. Upon arrival you are greeted by an allocated parking area for up to two cars, parking available for a 3rd car in the main drive way in, and an enclosed garden can be found at the front of the lodge, the ideal place to enjoy a bistro-style breakfast and enjoy the view with your furry friends.
Entering the property, you are greeted by an open plan living space, where your fully fitted kitchen awaits you providing everything you need to rustle up those home cooked meals. Don’t fancy cooking? Why not treat yourself at a local restaurant or café, a short drive away. Relax and unwind in the living area and enjoy the warmth of the wood burner while you watch your favourite show or movies. When sleep calls, you have three bedrooms to choose from to sink down and rest your head. The children’s bedroom has a bunk bed and TV (bunk bed not suitable for adults).
Enjoy the splendid location and picturesque scenery. Bolton by Bowland has shops, tea rooms, restaurants and bars, and is a short drive away. There is so much to do here from popular woodland walks and famous forests, to a golf course, castle, swimming pool and pet farms.
It is centrally located for visiting the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Parks. Clitheroe provides the best of both worlds, including local gift shops, restaurants, takeaways and cafés, but is also a wonderful escape for keen walkers, nature lovers and cyclists too. Situated in the heart of the Ribble Valley, you are simply spoilt for choices of walks and local attractions. Explore the famous Forest of Bowland, known for being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are plenty of opportunities for golf, fishing, horse riding and hiking. The ancient Roman town of Ribchester is just a couple of miles to the south, home to the Ribchester Roman Museum and a fantastic choice of pubs and restaurants. Hawett Farm is a beautifully unique, interior designed property offering a wonderful mix of rural character and charm. Set in two acres of grounds, the location is tranquil boasting far reaching countryside views to the sound of birdsong. Inside is incredibly spacious, encompassing three floors with the real heart of the home being the exquisite family kitchen. As you walk in, the vaulted ceiling and incredible views are simply impressive. The kitchen itself is a bespoke, handmade design and a central breakfast bar island, dining table and comfortable sofa in front of a wood burner have all been incorporated. There’s a separate huge living/dining area with open fire, and where you’ll find the television discreetly hidden behind an oak cabinet bookcase. For children (and adults!), the games room has a half-size snooker and pool table, together with a projector for films and music videos, yet another wood burner and a single bed. Lastly on the ground floor there’s a utility room and toilet.
Moving upstairs to the first floor you’ll find the family bathroom and three large bedrooms, each with stunning rural views to wake up to. The jungle mural bedroom is spectacular! Split and twist stairs take you to the second floor which is the luxurious master suite, with super kingsize bed and an en-suite with stand-alone tub, table-mounted twin wash basins and a walk-in rainfall shower. The television rises out of a wooden chest, and to add to the intrigue further, a full length mirror conceals the dressing room – it’s brilliant! Outside in the grounds, badminton and croquet is available to set up on the lawn. Finally there’s the opportunity to play with the tame goats, sheep and chickens, including the collection of eggs!
The village of Parbold is 1½ miles away and includes a train station with direct service to Manchester in just under an hour. Several good country pubs are within easy walking distance, and the Leeds to Liverpool canal runs through the village for waterside strolls and narrowboat/kayak hire. Fabulous walks and hikes are available direct from the door, and the beautiful sandy beach of Southport is a mere 30-minute drive.

The large terrace outside has composite decking, glass balustrade and patio furniture where you can dine alfresco while admiring Morecambe Bay’s famous sunsets. In addition, there is a small lawned area where children can play.
The lodge is perfectly placed on a very popular holiday complex near Heysham. Located right on the seafront offering fantastic views of the stunning Irish Sea, children and adults are both well entertained with a range of activities, including a heated indoor pool, sauna, sports and leisure facilities, show bar, children’s entertainment, restaurant, beer garden, arcade, laundrette and small shop. After a day exploring, enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants, or a drink in the bar; the Show Bar offers weekend entertainment.
Located a short distance from Morecambe, a seaside resort with a sandy beach and long promenade. On the north end of the promenade, you can find Happy Mount Park which is open all year round. For wetter days or evening entertainment, Morecambe’s Soul Bowl is located on Central Promenade with its ten bowling lanes, restaurant and bar. If you wish to venture in the opposite direction, historic Lancaster is a short drive away. Lancaster Castle is a must see, as is a visit to Willamson Park and Butterfly House.

One double bedroom can be found on the ground floor, and upstairs is a further double bedroom, a twin room and a family bathroom consisting of a walk-in shower.
