The Forest of Bowland, which is one of the UK’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covers over 300 square miles of rural Lancashire, and North Yorkshire is right on the doorstep. Other popular walks include Pendle Hill and the Tolkien Trail. The Forest of Gisburn is just 12 miles away. Other popular activities nearby include golf, fishing and swimming.
    Families with children will enjoy Clitheroe Castle Museum, 1½ miles, Bashall Barn, 4 miles, and Bowland Wild Boar Park, 10 miles.     The property is situated between Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire, which makes exploring the North West of England incredibly easy, and the motorway is just a few minutes’ drive away. The Yorkshire Dales offers fantastic walking, waterfall trails, caving, the Three Peaks challenge and stimulating cycling routes, and is only a 30-minute drive. If shopping and history is more up your street, then just 15 minutes’ south you can be in the wonderful city of Lancaster, boasting a bustling high street and food markets every Wednesday and Saturday.
