Other popular towns and villages within the Ribble Valley include Longridge, Chatburn, Ribchester, Waddington and Whalley. With stunning scenery and lots of charming country pubs, the Ribble Valley is perfect for walkers and cyclists. The Forest of Bowland, which is one of the UK’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covers over 300 square miles of rural Lancashire, and North Yorkshire is right on the doorstep. Other popular walks include Pendle Hill and the Tolkien Trail. The Forest of Gisburn is just 12 miles away. Other popular activities nearby include golf, fishing and swimming.

A few miles inland is the neighbouring village of Thornton, where you’ll find more shops, pubs and restaurants together with an 18th Century windmill and Wyre Estuary Country Park. The bright lights of Blackpool, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower are just 4 miles round the coast, and a few miles further you’ll reach the beautiful sandy beaches of St Annes and, wonderfully cosmopolitan, Lytham. Further amenities can be found in the market towns of Kirkham and Poulton-Le-Fylde which are around a 15-minute drive and home to ample places to eat and drink, together with a vibrant nightlife.
The Fylde coastal resorts of Blackpool, Lytham, St Annes and Cleveleys can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and between them is much to see and do. In wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham there is a variety of bars, cafés, boutique shops and restaurants, and in St Annes you will find a beautiful sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The area is internationally famous for golf and the towns also host various events throughout the year, including the Lytham Proms and St Annes Kite Festival. Blackpool needs little introduction with its many attractions including the famous tower, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, the Sealife Centre, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. For a change of scenery the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is much loved for its stunning countryside and picturesque villages, can be reached in about half an hour. An hour’s drive can take you to the Lake District or city centres of both Manchester and Liverpool. Beach 9½ miles.

Sunderland Point is set at the mouth of the River Lune on the southern shores of Morecambe Bay. It’s remote and secretive split of land allows the chance for nature to thrive, and thus, is a perfect spot for bird watching. The popular seaside resort of Morecambe hosts many attractions from picking up the freshly caught shrimp at the daily farmers market to afternoon tea’s on the seafront, there is lots to offer. There is an abundance of fun to be had for the family including bowling, cinema and arcade centres or why not try out the quirky cafés, pubs and cocktail bars along the sea front?
The property is just a 5-minute drive from the M6 motorway making it easily accessible to the south Lake District National Park and North Yorkshire. For golfers, Heysham Golf Club is just 2 miles away, and there are also courses at Morecambe, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale and Silverdale. Beach 3 miles.

Located on the Lancashire/Yorkshire boundary, it’s also home to Stubbylee Park which has an outdoor gym, tennis courts and an off road cycling ‘pump track’. Rawtenstall is around a 15-minute drive and boasts cobbled streets, a thriving market and local independent businesses. It has one of the best dry ski slopes in England and is also the northern point of the heritage East Lancs Railway.
The mountain bike trails of Lee and Cragg Quarry can be picked up just outside Bacup, and the surrounding countryside including the nearby Rossendale Valley is popular with walkers and hikers. Other local attractions include The Whitaker Art Gallery, the ’Singing Ringing Tree’ and the ’Halo’, Burnley and Rossendale’s panopticons, and the National Trust’s Gawthorpe Hall. Finally, the city of Manchester is around a 40-minute drive or a 30-minute direct train from Walsden or Todmorden train stations.
