The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is based at Coningsby, just 15 miles away, which has a visitor centre. For the more energetic, there are good walks and cycle routes from the door. Horncastle is renowned for its antique shops and is only a short drive, as is the unspoilt Georgian town of Louth with two busy market days a week. A visit to the sandy beaches at Mablethorpe and Skegness is always worth a day out. The cathedral city of Lincoln, some 15 miles to the west , is rich in history combined with independent boutique shopping, great arts and culture and many places to eat and drink. Within 30 yards of the barn is a well-stocked trout lake for fly fishing and with 40 acres to walk around, there is plenty of opportunity to exercise yourself and your dogs. Stabling is available for your horse by arrangement with the owners. The Barn comes complete with a large open-plan living area with log burner making it ideal for family get-togethers and celebrations with a second sitting area complete with pool table adjacent. This Grade II listed, 300 years old, stone-built, semi-detached cottage was built 300 years ago in 1705 as a bakery serving the then highway outside which was part of the Great North Road to Scotland. The cottage is a little quirky and rustic, with quite high ceilings due to its origin as a shop. The cottage is close to the A1 Trunk Road making it easily accessible to the north and south. For those who want to use public transport, there is a bus stop just 85 yards away with buses to Grantham with its station on the East Coast London to Scotland main rail line route.
    This wonderful abode is located in the village of Colsterworth, close to Isaac Newton’s home, the historic National Trust Woolsthorpe Manor and Grantham, which has a busy Saturday farmers market. Nearby there are many places of interest including castles, country houses, gardens, Rutland Water, Burghley Horse Trials and many other attractions. Other places of interest nearby include Vale of Belvoir, 10 miles, Grimsthorpe castle, 10 miles and the WW2 Air Force bomber base, with an old ruin of a runway still visible.
