Or head down Steep Hill to the Brayford Waterside where you can watch the boats cruise by. After a day exploring you can cosy up in front of the wood burner or relax on the large terrace and enjoy the peace and quiet, with very little light pollution its great for the star gazers among you. Attractions in the area include, Cadwell park race track, Market Rasen Horse racing, Woodhall Spa gold as well as home of the dam busters, Horncastle, antique centre of Lincolnshire and Spilsby Sir John Franklins birth place. Sommersby Tennysons birth place, Coningsby home of the Battle of Briton flight and the Euro fighter. Best of all the Lincolnshire wolds, go out the gate, turn right and you dont have to see a main road let alone cross one.

To the rear of the property are the village playing fields as well as a children’s playground. Tetford is in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visit the seaside, spend a day in the Roman town of Horncastle, well known for its curio and antique shops, take a trip to the Georgian market town of Louth which still boasts three markets a week, or drive to Lincoln with its cathedral which was used in the filming of The Da Vinci Code as well as explore the castle and the Magna Carta Visitor Centre, also the Bomber Memorial Centre. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is based at Coningsby, just 15 miles away, which has a visitor centre. For the more energetic, there are good walks and cycle routes from the door. This lovely barn conversion offers ground floor accommodation for up to 4 guests. Brook House Farm Cottage is situated on the owner’s farm which boasts its own horse stud and livery yard. The cottage building dates back to 1791 and was converted in 2008 to provide comfortable, modern accommodation.
There are lovely walks straight from the door into the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and plenty of cycle routes in abundance throughout the area. Motoring enthusiasts will enjoy Cadwell Park race circuit which is about a mile away. A half hour drive away, there are great days out to be had on the east coast, with miles of walks along award winning sandy beaches and the traditional resorts of Skegness, Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe.
The Lincolnshire Wolds market towns of Louth and Horncastle are both about 7 miles away and have a good selection of shops and amenities. Horncastle is well known for its range of antique and collectables shops. Inland is the city of Lincoln, about 30-minutes drive, with its famous cathedral and castle as well as the vibrant wharf area with restaurants and cafés to relax in and watch the world go by. To the west 5 miles away is the market town of Horncastle well known for its many antique and collectables shops, Cadwell Park Race Circuit near Louth is approx. 20 minutes drive and the City of Lincoln well known for its Cathedral and Castle is approx. 35 minutes’ drive for days out exploring the Castle area or the shopping to be found on the High Street and around the Wharf area which also benefits from many good restaurants and bars to sit outside and watch the world go by on the water. Set in the grounds of the owner’s pub which also has a touring site, this semi-detached holiday property is ideal as a touring base for exploring the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, which is next door, home to Just Jane Lancaster Bomber. The cottage is located behind the public house, but a nice distance away to keep disturbance down. Food is served in the pub every day 5-8pm, and live music and karaoke are held on a regular basis.
The traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 25 minutes away, or why not go inland to the Lincolnshire Wolds, where you can explore the Wolds villages and enjoy refreshment in the countryside pubs. The Georgian market town of Louth is about a 25 minute drive away, and Horncastle, which boasts, many antique shops is only 15 minutes away.
