Epworth is world famous for being the birthplace of John and Charles Wesley, founders of the Methodist movement, and their home Epworth Old Rectory is just 100 yards away. The centre of Epworth is just a 5-minute stroll away with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy after a day exploring. Good walks and cycle routes are available straight from the door. The east coast of Lincolnshire is just an hour away where you can visit the tradition seaside resort of Cleethorpes. Head to the City of Hull and visit the Deep Subsea aquarium, head into Lincoln to see its famous cathedral and castle, or enjoy lunch alongside the boats at the Brayford Waterside. The antiques centres on the old airfield at Hemswell Cliff are popular with collectors and Doncaster, Worksop and Newark hold regular international antique fairs - the show grounds are all within 45 minutes. Shops, pubs and restaurants are all within ¼ mile.

These three holiday cottages (UK40757, UK40758 and UK40759) are all part of the former Papist Hall, built in the late 1600’s and one of the oldest buildings in the village of Barrow upon Humber.
The newly renovated cottages offer a delightful mix of period features and modern amenities finished to a high standard. Papist Hall cottages are ideal for a relaxing break or as a touring base for north-east Lincolnshire, the coastline or even heading north into east Yorkshire and Hull, just 25 minutes away. The small village of Barrow upon Humber has range of shops and amenities as well as pubs serving food all within walking distance. Barrow upon Humber’s most famous son is John Harrison, inventor of the marine chronometer which allowed sailors to calculate longitude at sea, greatly improving safety at sea and saving many lives.
Visit Hull, 25 minutes away, the Yorkshire Wolds, 35 minutes, or even travel to Beverley, 30 minutes away, and York, about an hour away. The city of Lincoln is 50 minutes’ drive and is famous for its castle, cathedral, vibrant Brayford Wharf and excellent shopping. Shop, pub, restaurant ½ mile.
Please note that Papist Hall is a 350 year old building and as such is not accessible for those with mobility issues. There are steep steps and some uneven surfaces throughout the buildings and garden.

Snow Drop Hut (UK35921) is situated in a lovely, peaceful paddock surrounded by mature trees. This detached shepherd’s hut offers a lovely romantic base ideal for a relaxing break. This features an open plan living space with a cosy wood burner, and a comfortable double bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
Bluebell Wood Yurt (36163) enjoys a wonderful outlook, where you look out of your own private yurt into the Bluebell Wood. The main bedroom area has a dressing table and sofa, and there is a separate kitchen and a shower room which has the benefit of a shower cubicle and a vintage basin.
Each property features a private garden with a decked area and BBQ, where you can sit out and enjoy the peace and quiet, as well as look at the twinkling fairly lights in the trees at night.
These charming properties lie just 20 minutes’ drive from the Humber Bridge and on into Hull where just one of many attractions is The Deep Sub Sea Aquarium, or travel south towards Lincoln, or head for the east coast and the traditional seaside resort of Cleethorpes, which is about 45 minutes’ drive. With easy access to the A15, M180 and just 10 mins drive over the Humber Bridge and into East Yorkshire. Barton Upon Humber has many good shops, restaurants and pubs as well as tea rooms and a regular market to enjoy, all of which are within a short walk. For days out head to the coast and the sandy beaches at Cleethorpes or inland to explore the Lincolnshire Wolds, the market town of Brigg or even into the Cities of Lincoln and Hull all with an hours drive. The Humber Bridge is about 20 minutes drive, from where you can continue into the city of Hull and visit the The Deep Sub Sea Aquarium, or enjoy the huge range of shops and amenities and have lunch overlooking the marina.

Mainly to the front of the cottage is an enclosed lawned garden with a raised deck to one side where you can sit back and relax and enjoy the view which has a very tranquil feel to it.
