The area has a lot of activities for everyone, with the coastal resort of Mablethorpe close by and Sandilands golf course is less than 2 miles away. If you want to explore further along the coast, the busy traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 14 miles away, the market towns of Alford, 7 miles and Louth, 20 miles are all worth a day out. The Lincolnshire Wolds offer excellent walks and cycle routes with good country pubs to stop off in and enjoy refreshments, coarse fishing at Bratoft, (licence required), is 2 miles away and there is a good golf course within a short drive. Wits End Cottage is close to Woodhall Spa and Horncastle, and is only 25 minutes into the city of Lincoln and about a 30-minute drive to the traditional seaside resort of Skegness. For days out by car, on foot or by bicycle, the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is close by. From the doorstep are good walks and cycle routes, and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for WWII enthusiasts is at Coningsby, just a 15-minute drive. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This lovely barn conversion offers ground floor accommodation for up to 4 guests. Brook House Farm Cottage is situated on the owner’s farm which boasts its own horse stud and livery yard. The cottage building dates back to 1791 and was converted in 2008 to provide comfortable, modern accommodation.
There are lovely walks straight from the door into the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and plenty of cycle routes in abundance throughout the area. Motoring enthusiasts will enjoy Cadwell Park race circuit which is about a mile away. A half hour drive away, there are great days out to be had on the east coast, with miles of walks along award winning sandy beaches and the traditional resorts of Skegness, Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe.
The Lincolnshire Wolds market towns of Louth and Horncastle are both about 7 miles away and have a good selection of shops and amenities. Horncastle is well known for its range of antique and collectables shops. Inland is the city of Lincoln, about 30-minutes drive, with its famous cathedral and castle as well as the vibrant wharf area with restaurants and cafés to relax in and watch the world go by. WWII enthusiasts can visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby and enjoy watching the Lancaster Bomber ’Just Jane’ doing taxi runs at Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby about 15 minutes drive away.

Anderby Creek has a café, beach shop and pub and is undoubtably one of the best destinations to be found along this stretch of coast in between the traditional seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe. Set in over 300 acres of woodland, these detached log cabins lie in Kenwick Woods, near the town of Louth. There are lovely walks straight from the lodges, and cycle routes that take you out towards the coast or inland across the scenic Lincolnshire Wolds. The park also boasts an 18-hole golf course, which makes its way through mature woodland, negotiating no less than 9 lakes, with a bar and restaurant about ½ mile walk. There is excellent coarse and fly fishing nearby, with 15 lakes within a 5-mile radius of Louth (permit required).
The nearby Georgian market town of Louth has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a cinema and the Meridian Leisure Centre to enjoy. The seal breeding grounds at Donna Nook are about a 20-minute drive and are always worth a day out in breeding season. The traditional seaside resorts of Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea are about a 20-minute drive to the east, with miles of quiet sandy beaches to explore. Beach 14 miles. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

This lovely cottage with a hot tub is tucked away in the countryside close to the village of Blankney. You can relax in the hot tub enjoying the views as well as snuggle up in front of the wood burner after a day spent exploring the area.

An attic area with a large window and comfy seat next to it provides a peaceful spot to relax, read or work as you gaze over the fields. Your dogs will enjoy the large, enclosed garden which also has a garage where you can lock up your bikes, and an electric point for charging your car or bike if required.

Enjoy a day exploring nearby Lincoln, famous for its magnificent cathedral, castle and the Magna Carta Visitor Centre. Visit the Bailgate area in the heart of Lincoln’s historic quarter and discover a world of specialist shops including boutiques, crafts, book, and gift shops, not to mention tea rooms and restaurants that line the cobbled streets.

The neighbouring village of Metheringham, with its pubs and restaurant, is just 2 miles away, and Blankney Golf Club, an 18-hole golf course, can be reached in under a mile. Throughout the area are many good cycle routes and walks, from your own gate you can walk out onto the quiet country lane and stroll into the village or simply stay in your cottage and just enjoy the open views and relaxing countryside. The promenade stretch from Sandilands to Mablethorpe is very popular, with bus stops at both ends. A bus stop at the entrance to the Park means it is straightforward to leave the car and journey along the coast to see Skegness, Huttoft Bank, Anderby Creek, Sandilands, Sutton-on-Sea and Mablethorpe for days out.
Skegness is the nearest large town and is a traditional seaside resort that many generations of visitors have enjoyed, and has everything from the funfair, seal sanctuary, aquarium, cinema and the pier to enjoy. Shops, pubs, restaurants and beach all within ½ mile.
