Nestling in the stunning Esk Valley, these holiday properties have been lovingly converted from 200 year old farm buildings and are situated just across the courtyard from the owners’ farmhouse which dates from the 12th century. Converted from a former granary, The Granary (ref W41008) occupies the first floor of a detached barn conversion, with views towards Castleton Rigg. Stylish and delightfully furnished, retaining many original features with a vaulted ceiling, low beams and solid oak floors. The Carthouse (ref W41503) is spacious and occupies the ground floor of the detached barn conversion, whilst The Byre (ref W7733) is an attractive single storey, detached property with a multi-fuel stove in the living room, and offers wonderful views over the dale. They are all tastefully furnished and decorated and offer excellent holiday accommodation. Ideally situated in the beautiful North York Moors National Park, a scenic drive along the country roads takes you to the historic port of Whitby. The area abounds with smugglers coves and quaint fishing villages untouched by the passing years. An excellent base for exploring the surrounding area, with the Yorkshire coast and Heartbeat country both easily accessible. Walking is available direct from the door, with fishing and riding nearby. Castleton is 1 mile away with all amenities including supermarket, bank and post office. A magical part of the world at any time of the year. Hunters Lodge is perfectly set in the delightful little village of Scruton which is located outside the wonderful market town of Northallerton. Surrounded by the North York Moors National Park, this detached property is simply stunning and is everything you would want from a holiday cottage. Hunters Lodge still retains its sense of history, after being converted from an old barn with exposed beams throughout, giving you that home from home feeling as soon as you step in.
On the ground floor you have a delightful and comfortable living area which offers fantastic views of the spectacular countryside, a wood burner for those colder evenings, adding additional heat and charm, a great area to kick back and relax in with a glass of red after a long day exploring this wonderful area. The large country style kitchen which is well presented and well-equipped gives you plenty of room for food preparation and dining space, should you wish to have a home cooked meal. In addition, this is a great area for socialising in or playing a board game with the family. Adjacent from the living room down the hallway are two good sized bedrooms, both with fresh linen, guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep ready for the next day’s adventure. In between both bedrooms is the large family bathroom, with a shower over bath should you wish to have a long soak.
To the rear of the property, you have a perfect garden which offers a seating area, giving you a great place to sit out and relax in the summer months, whilst enjoying a glass of fizz or taking in the fresh country air with your morning coffee.
With the cottage situated outside of Northallerton, the local pubs, restaurants and shops are within easy reach as well as the world-famous Betty’s tea room where afternoon tea is a must. You can explore the stunning North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, both packed full of bike trails and fantastic, scenic walks. Nearby towns which are well worth a visit include Helmsley, Thirsk, Richmond and a little further afield York and Leeds which can be accessed by the train station in Northallerton. Hunters Lodge is truly in a perfect location and guarantees a perfect staycation.

Within the North York Moors National Park, in a sheltered wooded valley close to the magnificent ruins of Rievaulx Abbey, these spacious, comfortable and well-equipped holiday cottages: Foxglove Cottage (ref W43183), Bridge Cottage (ref W43184) and Rievaulx Cottage (ref W43185) stand in a landscaped courtyard, close to the owner’s farmhouse. Enjoy farmhouse breakfasts at Laskill Grange, or across the drive at Laskill Country House, the owners’ daughter offers home cooked evening meals or ready prepared frozen meals. There are 70 acres of beautifully tended grounds and a shared terrace garden with its small lake and river frontage.
The surrounding countryside views are superb, and there is excellent walking from the doorstep. Long distance footpaths along this area’s Heritage coastline, and the Cleveland Way, offer perfect terrain for walkers and cyclists. Visit Ryedale Folk Museum and Rosedale Abbey, or for a day out, try the North York Moors Railway. Whitby has miles of sandy beaches and an ancient abbey overlooking its harbour. Scarborough, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Sandsend are within 20 miles. Horse racing at Thirsk, Wetherby and York, 25 miles. Helmsley has Duncombe Park and a castle. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 6 miles.

Brook Hall is a classical English mansion built in 1835, where there is beauty, space, fresh air, comfort, freedom, and incredible far-reaching unspoilt views in all directions with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The Wing sleeps up to 16 guests and consists of eight large double or twin bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large kitchen and a sitting area with Smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary needs with an electric Belling cooker and a large extendable farmhouse table for sit-down meals.
There is plenty of room to relax and chat with friends and family with picture windows. Two of the deep roll-top baths have far-reaching views across the Yorkshire countryside. One of the baths is a jacuzzi bath, should you wish to have a long soak after the day’s adventures, and in addition two of the bathrooms have showers for guests on the go. Come and relax outside in your very own private, Victorian walled garden in the grand setting of the magnificent Hall. Set within the delightful little village of Wighill, which has its excellent pub and is located just outside York, one of the most visited cities outside London. You have quick access to the independent shops, café, pubs, restaurants, and the many tourist attractions York has to offer. Other towns and cities close by are the fashionable spa town of Harrogate and the bustling city of Leeds. Brook Hall is also on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, both full of bike trails and beautiful scenic walks. Brook Hall is also very well positioned for both York and Wetherby racecourses, so why not have a day at the races? If you and the family fancied a day at the beach, the wonderful east coast can be found in just over one hour. Hot tub hire is available but guests would need to arrange this with the owner before their arrival.
