Hinderwell is just a 5-minute walk from the cottage, and local amenities include several excellent several pubs, a good butchers, local shops and a café. Staithes is just a mile down the road and is worth exploring. With great access to Sandsend and the seaside town of Whitby, you can enjoy the picturesque coastline on your visit, or choose to explore the historic Whitby Abbey.

Westfield farm is a stunning Grade II listed property dating back to 1695. It is set in the picturesque village of Little Barugh, just a few miles from the popular market town of Malton and only a short drive from The North York Moors National Park. This property is ideal for a family or group of friends to relax and enjoy time together in beautiful surroundings. Step inside and the period features are all around, with oak beams, wooden floors, terracotta tiles, original victorian range and even a witching post! Each room oozes charm and character and are furnished with antiques in a traditional Yorkshire style. Set in a peaceful location this is an ideal choice for guests who want to escape to the country by the sea. With a large, enclosed garden to the front of the property and fields filled with neighbouring sheep behind you, here you have your own little piece of the Yorkshire countryside, away from the rest of the world.
The spacious layout of the property is designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind, bathed in light from large skylights as well as the glass doors opening out onto the raised decking which looks across the garden. Set all on one level, this property benefits from a ramp leading from the driveway across the lawn to the front door, and has ground floor facilities, suitable for guests with restricted mobility. Stroll through the colourful ornamental gardens of Peasholm Park on the North Bay, or South Cliff Gardens above the historic Spa complex, visit the Rotunda Museum or have fun on the amusements. Culture lovers will be impressed by the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, which features excellent productions, or the large, open-air theatre which hosts many well-known bands. For children you have the Sea Life Centre, Alpamare Water Park, Playdale Farm Park, Dalby Forest Go Ape and Activity Centre, Castle Howard, Wykeham Lakes Fishing and Water Park, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, and Mini Monsters indoor soft play for wet days, all within a 30-minute drive.

Surrounded by 10 acres of meadowland in the grounds of Ovington Grange, this charming detached cottage offers superb accommodation, and there is stabling and equestrian facilities for riders and carriage drivers by arrangement with the owner. This single-storey accommodation has level access throughout with wide doorways meaning it is easily accessible and will appeal to all ages. It has a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining room with gloss units and a full range of appliances, including a coffee machine, dishwasher and TV to cater for your every need. The living room is spacious with comfortable sofas set around an electric wood burner. Two patio doors open out onto the enclosed south-facing patio... a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee taking in the views beyond.

The accommodation extends to two large bedrooms. The first has a kingsize bed and quality bedding - promising a good night’s sleep! It also has an en-suite bathroom with corner shower. Bedroom two offers two single beds which can zip and link to make a super kingsize bed on request, as well as windows at both aspects of the room bringing in the surrounding views. Bedroom two has a TV for your entertainment. A separate bathroom is provided with bath with overhead electric shower.

To the side of the cottage is a lovely enclosed courtyard garden with furniture, ideal for al fresco dining with a glass of wine in the evening. There is the added benefit of a private driveway and space for two cars, with extended parking available on request. Being animal lovers, the owners, who live on-site, are happy to accept up to two well behaved dogs. There is also stabling available on site by private arrangement.

A short walk from the cottage, brings you to the charming hamlet of Ovington and a lovely traditional pub serving home-cooked food and local ales. With so many opportunities to explore whether by car or on foot, the stunning North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are both within easy reach. A short drive away is the market town of Barnard Castle with its bustling high street full of quaint shops, pubs and cafés, as well as the impressive Bowes Museum. Alternatively, the historic Yorkshire market town of Richmond is great for strolling along the cobbled streets and castle walls. A visit to the beautiful city of York is not to be missed with stunning architecture as well as the incredible York Minster dominating the skyline. Shop 4 miles, pub ¾ miles and restaurant 1¾ miles.

Situated in the village of Cloughton and built in 2019, Oliver’s View is a beautiful, semi-detached, three bedroom house of a very good standard with furnishings and décor to match. It is named after Oliver’s Mount that can be seen from the property to the right, due to the uninterrupted views across the countryside from the garden. A wildlife pond and the sea can also be seen from the garden. Oliver’s View is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in an idyllic village location. The village has a good bus service that runs between Whitby and Scarborough, and it also has two village pubs that serves food, one The Blacksmith’s Arms, owned by the Duchy of Lancaster, famously hosted Her Majesty the Queen for lunch!

Lying on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, the stunning scenery and walks that are right on your doorstep are wonderful. The Cleveland Way runs down the coast as well as the Cinder Path, the old railway line track that ran between Scarborough and Whitby which can be seen from the rear garden. Lots of cyclists and walkers enjoy this route taking in the fantastic views and historic sites.

Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and Scarborough are just a short drive away, both very popular seaside resorts all year round and have excellent restaurants, bars and shops. Just a 10-minute drive and you can be walking round Peasholm Park or visiting the very popular Alpamare waterpark with its wave machines and splash pools. Scarborough is also home to the largest outdoor theatre in Europe where many international artists entertain tourists every year. The annual Scarborough Cricket Festival continues to be a real attraction to lovers of the sport. Oliver’s View is a great base to see what Yorkshire has to offer.

This beautiful and historic town in is settled high above the River Swale and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area and the chance to browse the weekly market and monthly farmers’ market with local produce and crafts. Within an easy 2-hour drive is the historic cathedral city of Durham with its cathedral, castle and city walls. For a day out, the North York Moors Railway runs steam train journeys between Grosmont and Pickering. Nestling in the hamlet of Speeton just a few miles from the seaside town of Filey, yet bordering open countryside, this stunning chapel conversion retains many original features such as beautiful stained glass windows, high solid wood ceilings, wall panelling and solid wood floors. Spectacular cliff top walks afford breathaking views of the rugged yet beautiful East Yorkshire coastline. Here guests can walk the city walls, visit the railway museum, the minster and shambles with its designer boutique shops.
