    Ryndle Corner is a beautiful, detached house overlooking Peasholm Park, one of the finest locations in Scarborough and voted one of the best parks in the UK. The park has stunning gardens and wildlife, and lots of leisurely walks can be taken here. The park is also home to the world famous Naval Warfare, a unique miniature sea battle that is re-enacted. There are plenty of rowing boats and pedaloes that you can explore the lake on or if you prefer a more leisurely ride there’s the swan launch motor boat. During the summer season there are regular concerts in the park. The park also boasts an 18-hole mini golf course so there’s plenty to do right on your doorstep.
    As well as Peasholm Park you are close to the cricket ground where the famous summer festival gives you the opportunity to see county cricket at its best. Ryndle Corner is a short stroll from the North Bay’s long sandy beach, which makes it a great location for a family holiday. Just down the hill is the Open Air Theatre, the largest open air amphitheatre in Europe where, during the summer season, you can enjoy concerts from world renowned artists. The Alpamare waterpark, offering water slides and a wave machine, is only a 10-minute stroll away. The location of Ryndle Corner means there really is something for everyone right on the doorstep!
    The long wide sandy beach has won awards for cleanliness making it perfect for families. For the more adventurous, surfing lessons can be booked from the surf shop just down the hill. Scarborough boasts two beaches with a long, flat promenade where you can enjoy early evening strolls. The castle stands proud on the hillside separating the two bays. The South Bay is more vibrant with the amusements and shops, and the North Bay is the quieter, more peaceful area. For those of you who like evening entertainment, the Stephen Joseph Theatre is close by. Famous for the world premieres of almost all of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays, the theatre is well worth a visit. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants all within walking distance. Scarborough is a great base to see what the east coast has to offer.
    Ryndle Corner is the perfect base for walkers too, being situated only a few miles from the famous North York Moors National Park, or you can walk part of the Cleveland Way along the rugged coast. Just a short drive and you can visit Whitby, Flamborough, Bridlington and the famous RSPB cliffs at Bempton where you can see the puffins and gannets in their natural habitat. The medieval city of York is only an hour away where you can visit the famous Minster or the railway museum.

    Town House II is situated in a prime position in Scarborough, just a short walk from the North Bay. All the bedrooms have TVs and en-suite facilities, and the icing on the cake is the enclosed hot tub in the courtyard!

    The town and shops are within walking distance with a great indoor shopping centre and lots of boutiques, and for those who prefer the nightlife, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, clubs and a casino. Just around the corner is the Scarborough cricket ground where the famous Scarborough Festival is held each year, an end of season competition featuring Yorkshire County Cricket Club. For those who love a faster sport, there’s Oliver’s Mount racing track with high powered road race bikes. As you walk to the beach you pass one of the entrances to Peasholm Park. Take a detour and walk around the park with its stunning gardens, lakes and waterfalls. There are boats and pedalos, and in summer, a brass band to entertain you. The park is famous for the Naval Warfare Battle where model ships re-enact a battle on the lake. It’s great entertainment for the kids and has been for the last 80 years.

    One of the best things about Scarborough is that it has two bays, quite different from each other. The South Bay is a traditional seaside resort with donkeys, amusements and shops, whereas the North Bay is much quieter and more relaxed. Half way between the two bays, the castle stands proud on the cliffs above. You can walk the full length of Marine Drive from North to South Bay and it’s nice and flat making it easy for that evening stroll. If you prefer, there are the open top buses that run along the seafront. At the far end of North Bay is the Sealife Centre and the open air theatre, one of the largest outdoor theatres in Europe where international acts play during the summer.

    Further down the coast is Filey, Flamborough and Bridlington. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton is worth a visit where you can see puffins in their natural habitat. North of Scarborough are the beautiful North York Moors, and Whitby, a bustling fishing town famous for Whitby Jet Jewellery and the Goth weekends. You are only an hour away from York, a beautiful medieval city where you can visit the Railway Museum, take a leisure cruise on the river or walk the city walls which surround it. Beach 700 yards. The local area has a wealth of history dating back to 1626 and historic public gardens for you to enjoy just 100 yards down the road. At the bottom of the road, the sea stretches out in front of you; walk down through the Italian gardens or catch the cliffside tram to the beach. There are plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants within walking distance as well as shops and other local amenities.

You could even have a fun day out at the water park, on a boat ride or on a cooler day you could visit the Sea Life Centre. Peasholm Park is beautiful and has lots to see and do from boating in the lake to walking around the magical gardens. The walk along the Marine Drive is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.     There is a rich history of entertainment in Scarborough to visit. The Stephen Joseph Theatre (home to most of Alan Ayckbourn’s world premieres) to The Spa the largest open-air theatre in Europe where famous bands play.
    If you wanted to go out for the day and discover North Yorkshire Esplanade is only a 20-minute drive to Filey and a 40-minute drive to Whitby or Bridlington. If you wanted to travel a little further York is just over an hour but there are some beautiful sights to see in this historic town.

    The old town is where the fishermen’s cottages, quay side and shipyards were located. All the streets of the old town are on the hillside so the wives could watch for the boats coming back in. A short walk and you are in the town centre, where you can walk through the indoor market and onto the high street.
    Scarborough has plenty to do for people of all ages, with two fantastic beaches and a long promenade, perfect for an evening stroll.     For evening entertainment, Scarborough Open Air Theatre is the largest in Europe where many international acts put on shows throughout the summer.     Filey, Whitby and Bridlington are all a short drive away making the property ideally placed to visit these towns, as well as the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. The medieval city of York is less than an hour away by car or you can catch a direct train from Scarborough.

Apple Tree House is ideally suited to those with children as it has an enclosed rear garden with a good sized lawn for them to play. The YMCA also provides some excellent entertainment throughout the year. The cricket festival is held every August, and once again is just a short stroll from Signals Court. Dalby Forest, 8 miles away, is a popular destination for walkers, cyclists, outdoor adventures and also concerts. There are plenty of villages and towns such as Pickering, Malton, Helmsley and just 18 miles further up the coast is the traditional seaside town of Whitby.
