The market town of Sherborne is close by with its mix of shops, cafés and restaurants as well as its castle (built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594) to explore. Dorchester is a short drive away as is the purpose-built village of Poundbury, commissioned by King Charles, it’s ideal for a wander around. Why not head over and see the Cerne Giant or explore the beach at the traditional seaside town of Weymouth? Ride the donkeys in the summer or have some traditional fish and chips!
