Hinderwell is a village with excellent local amenities including a good butchers, convenience store, a local pub and a tea room all just a short walk from your doorstep. This quaint village is just a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Runswick Bay, which boasts a sandy cove with opportunities for fossil hunting and rock pooling, yet right in the North York Moors National Park. Head north or south on the Cleveland Way and visit some of the amazing coastal gems such as Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay, Sandsend or Saltburn.
The bustling town of Whitby is a short drive or bus ride away where you will find so much to see and do. There is a 3 mile stretch of golden sandy beach, traditional amusement arcades and regular boat trips out to sea in search of minke whales and dolphins. There are many bistros and restaurants ranging from award-winning fish and chips to fine dining as well as tea rooms, coffee shops and pubs with live music. If you’re feeling energetic why not attempt the 199 steps up to the abbey that towers over Whitby.
You can drive inland to enjoy the natural beauty and some amazing heritage sites such as abbeys and monasteries within the National Park or catch a steam train as it snakes through the lush countryside to destinations such as Goathland and Pickering. There is a huge diversity of things to do in the area from surfing to golfing, and there is an abundance of walking and cycling tracks. The accommodation is well equipped for six guests. It has a pretty living area with comfortable sofas, a spacious kitchen/dining area and three bedrooms. A variety of sleeping options and two bathrooms giving versatility for a small group. To the rear of the property, a few paces across the path takes you to an enclosed lawned garden area, a great place for the kids to play, while a summerhouse and further small decked area give far reaching views across pastureland and the sea. The rural village of Hinderwell makes a great base if you like to get out and about. The picturesque resorts of Staithes, Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Whitby are just a short drive away. Alternatively, the village is on a direct bus route into Whitby, perfect for avoiding parking at busy times. The cottage is close to two village inns serving good locally sourced produce and real ales; both are dog friendly. Other village amenities on hand include a family butcher, petrol station, churches, village hall, tennis courts, hair salon and a fish and chip shop. The property has a drive at the front for off-road parking, as well as an enclosed lawned garden at the rear, making it ideal for young children as well as dogs. For those who love the coast, there are some wonderful beaches nearby to discover. Saltburn is a surfers’ paradise and has an iconic pier as well as some trendy bars and restaurants. Staithes has undeniable charm; this village huddles around the shoreline, with little fishing boats sailing out from the harbour. Runswick Bay is gorgeous, with sweeping golden sand, perfect for a scenic stroll while taking in the fresh sea breeze. Whitby is just a 30-minute drive away, a seafaring town with a fascinating history and an abbey overlooking the cobbled streets lined with independent shops and quirky cafés for you to explore, this place really has it all! Here you can enjoy the views over the sea and along the cliff tops, with a raised decking area, accessed by a ramp for accessibility, making the most of the breath-taking panoramic scenery. You can watch the tide ebb and flow revealing the most glorious golden stretch of beach. Glass double doors lead from the decking into the living room, where you can sit back and soak up the scenery, or if you can drag your eyes away you can watch some TV, in the warm glow from the wood burner. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to create all your favourite meals, which you can enjoy at the dining table, again with beautiful sea views. From your doorstep you join the Cleveland Way which runs along the cliff edge linking scenic coastal villages and bays from Filey in the south and up to Saltburn in the north, then continuing into the North York National Park. From the top of the village you can follow the footpath down a steep slope towards the bay where you have a cluster of historic houses teetering above the sea. There’s a small café as well as a quaint pub, exploring the winding footpaths between the cottages is like stepping back in time. Further north along the coast is Staithes and Saltburn, the latter a surfers’ paradise with a Victorian pier and tram, and beyond the enormous beach going to Marske and Redcar. To the south at Sandsend the waves dramatically crash over the sea wall at high tide, Whitby, bursting with history and drawing guests from around the world; the tangle of cobbled streets in the village of Robin Hood’s Bay cling to the cliff edge, with houses spilling right down to the water’s edge. 22 Sea is a beautifully presented end of terrace house nestled in a quiet corner of ‘The Bay’, a purpose built holiday village overlooking Filey bay on the picturesque North Yorkshire coastline. With open plan living, and stunning full height windows providing access to a first floor balcony.

The dining table provides plenty of seating for six and is ideally placed to enjoy a family breakfast or delicious home cooked evening meal.
Two sets of bi-fold doors provide access to a covered patio area and flood the room with natural light. An understairs cupboard provides space for storage and a WC completes the ground floor accommodation.
Take the stairs to the first floor and you will find two stunning and spacious bedrooms, a kingsize double and a double room with traditional bunk beds. Both bedrooms offer the ’wow’ factor with vaulted ceilings and full height cathedral windows which open up to provide access to a full length, south facing balcony with lovely views across the holiday park.
