The village of Stillington has many amenities including several pubs, restaurants and a Post Office selling local produce and fresh meat. With a social club and a large antiques showroom there is certainly plenty to keep you busy. There are many miles of public footpaths and bridleways crisscrossing the countryside, and with the Howardian Hills only a few miles away it makes the cottages great for dogs. Stillington is also close to Thirsk, Helmsley, Harrogate and Knaresborough and has a great local bus service which will connect you to all of North Yorkshire.
The historic city of York is a must visit destination with attractions for all the family, from the famous Jorvic Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum to York’s Chocolate Story and York Minster. York’s winding streets and medieval buildings are world famous for playing host to hundreds of independent shops and restaurants. Kate’s Cottage is a mid-terraced, stone built cottage set in the heart of the Castle Howard Estate between Malton and Helmsley. This romantic little cottage is packed with character providing the perfect hideaway for a couple who enjoy cycling, walking and exploring this beautiful part of North Yorkshire.
Downstairs provides an open plan living space, with beamed ceilings, stone floors and a traditional window seat offering views out along the village.
