Westvew Cottage is a traditional stone built, end terraced cottage in a quiet lane in North Sunderland, located on the fringe of the popular fishing village of Seahouses. Seahouses offers a wide variety of facilities including tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops around a mile from the cottage. Boat trips to the Farne Islands run from the nearby harbour - the islands are famous for their nesting sea birds and grey seal colonies. Horse riding is available on the cusp of the village and there is an impressive golf course on the links close by. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only 2 miles north, with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches and where the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island and the birth place of Christianity, can be viewed. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Warren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is the home to countless thousands of sea and land birds making this location a haven for bird watchers. The market town of Alnwick, with its own castle offers many facilities a few miles inland.
