No trip to Northumberland is complete without a visit to Hadrian’s Wall, steeped in history, museums showing Roman artefacts and lovely walks. Only a few miles south you have beautiful beaches at Tynemouth and the lovely Spanish city in Whitley Bay. Alnwick Castle, used as a film set for Harry Potter scenes, is only a few miles away, and together with The Alnwick Garden, makes a lovely day out.

    The popular villages of Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh are all within easy driving distance. Nearby Alnmouth is ideal for catching a train to Edinburgh, Newcastle or York if you want to travel further afield. Newcastle-upon-Tyne is easily reached, where you can admire the historic streets or visit the Theatre Royal, The Baltic Art Centre or just sit and watch the world go by at the quayside in one of the lovely cafés or bars.
