Kielder, EnglandOld Kielder Castle Cottage lies in the prettiest part of the village of Kielder, directly opposite the castle, which can be admired from the large enclosed garden. The cottage has been sympathetically restored from a 1775 stable for the castle, into a contemporary cottage, which is ideal for couples or small families. The rear area has a pretty tiered patio area for extra privacy to relax and unwind. The open beams, underfloor heated stone floors and wood burner all help to retain the character of the cottage.
Kielder is set in the Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park, the largest expanse of dark sky in Europe, perfect for astronomers. The surrounding parks all have something to offer visitors. There is a hop on/off ferry which takes you all around the water to admire the stunning scenery with a visitor centre, bird of prey centre and bar with picnic tables along the front.
The local pub and licensed café are only a short walk away, which means you can leave your car behind and enjoy a quiet drink with friends. Newcastle upon Tyne, EnglandLocated close to Whitley Bay and Tynemouth with stunning beaches, bars and restaurants, this absolutely charming detached bungalow offers a mix of tasteful decor to provide a lovely base for up to six people. With a cosy wood burner and pretty rear enclosed garden, the cottage is set on the owners award-winning arable and beef farm. With chickens, horses and some pet sheep, children and, of course adults are welcome to visit the animals once the owner has explained the workings of the farm. A real bonus is the quirky little shepherds hut to the side of the cottage which is perfect for sitting in and watching the sunsets, chilled with a book or glass of wine, it’s a lovely extra. The owners have given attention to detail to provide the comforts in this homely property, which is all on one level. The two gardens for relaxing are lovely if you want to stay in or a bonus to come back to after a day out exploring where you can admire some countryside views.
