The road from the island was opened in 1954 by Queen Elizabeth II and on the mainland are Northumberland’s many delights within easy driving distance; Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses for boat trips to the Farne Islands’ bird and seal colonies, and Alnwick Castle and Gardens.

Hexham, EnglandOriginally built around 1699, Yew Tree Cottage is a charming, Grade II listed period property nestled in a peaceful cul-de-sac in a picturesque hamlet known as Broomhaugh. This gorgeous ‘chocolate box’ cottage is brimming with features and simply oozes character. Recently redecorated throughout and completed to a high standard, the interior of the property boasts a cosy, homely ambience.
The open plan living space covers the entire ground floor. The living area, with its exposed beams, has a wood burner that sits within the Tudor fireplace and makes a superb focal point. The bespoke kitchen is very well equipped and has unique 17th century flagstones. A small dining area completes the living space.
