The wonderful National Trust Property of Wallington Hall and Gardens is only 5 miles away. Matfen Hall, Spa and Golf Centre is only 10 miles, and you can drive down to Corbridge in 20 minutes. This is a lovely old Roman town with plenty of lovely pubs and cafés. The pick-your-own fruit farm and café is only half an hour for you to enjoy in summer. You really can travel all over the county from Newonstead Bothy, then come home and relax in this lovely location.

There is a luxurious family bathroom with bath and shower over and an additional downstairs separate toilet. Outside the grounds extend down to the stream, a perfect spot to sit and relax, you might even spot a fish or two swim by! Beat a retreat to the patio where you can take a dip in the hot tub or sit and just take in the joys of the countryside. There is a covered shelter with lighting, table, and chairs for al fresco suppers or for some campfire fun, cosy up round the fire pit and watch the stars - you’ll certainly be undisturbed.

Each detached lodge also offers a private, 6-seater hot tub (Coria Lodge, ref UKC4416, has a hoist rail system installed) and garden area with garden furniture for sitting out and enjoying the location. These properties are for families and couple bookings only, bookings for party purposes such as stag or hen parties are not accepted.
Perfectly situated near to the banks of the River Derwent with a boat house and fishing permits available for a small fee, guests who enjoy river fishing will be spoilt for choice. Also just a few hundred yards from the Derwent Walkway as well as a variety of established public footpaths, walks and cycling routes, there is no better base for enjoying and exploring the local area. Then leading further out into County Durham, Northumberland, the Northumberland National Park and the stunning North Pennines. Only half a mile from the village of Ebchester, there are plenty of amenities and facilities right on the doorstep.
