    Accessed by a private gated entrance, this is Vindomora’s Platinum Lodge. Expect high quality fixtures and fittings and beautiful views from its large windows. With spacious open plan living, kitchen and dining area, and welcoming wood burner. The luxury kitchen is fully fitted with all appliances. High quality beds and linen, with lots of attention to detail, enjoy the little extras like a coffee machine, DAB radio and bluetooth speaker, Smart TV’s throughout and a welcome bottle of bubbly and chocolates on arrival. Fluffy robes are provided for use of the hot tubs. There are further on-site facilities with a small private bar and TV area, and outside terrace with picnic tables. These properties are for families and couple bookings only, bookings for party purposes such as stag or hen parties are not accepted.
    Perfectly situated near to the banks of the River Derwent with a boat house and fishing permits available for a small fee. There is also the opportunity to join in with canoe or kayaking from the Boathouse. The Derwent Walkway is nearby with a variety of established walks and cycling routes, there is no better base for enjoying and exploring the local area. Excellent restaurants and a village shop are at the heart of this thriving community and within easy walking distance from the lodges. Vindomora Country Lodges have even negotiated discounts at a nearby Italian restaurant, local pub and at Beamish Museum.
    Located in Northumberland yet on the border of County Durham, there are plenty of places to visit and explore within an easy radius. The county of Northumberland is home to the historic Hadrian’s Wall which spans 73 miles from coast to coast and is now recognised as a World Heritage Site. The market town of Hexham is a 15-mile drive away with leisure centre, bowling alley, supermarkets, shops and a farmers’ market, as well as the historic attractions including Hexham Abbey and Hexham Old Gaol. The pretty town of Corbridge lies just 10 miles away and boasts a cobbled street centre surrounded by quaint tea shops, cafés and boutiques. Make reference to the unspoilt Northumberland coast, especially Bamburgh, Holy Island and boats trips to observe the seals around the Farne Islands (loads of guests to this and rave about it)

    Nestled in a courtyard at the rear of the impressive Wood House, sits The Cottage @ Wood House and adjoining The Old Stables. The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout, and is the perfect retreat for a romantic getaway.
    There is a cosy open plan living/dining/kitchen with gas fire and comfortable seating, whilst the bedroom is accessed via four small stairs with a sumptuous bed and en-suite shower room.
    There are many great places worth visiting, nearby is the Roman town of Corbridge, filled with quaint coffee shops and boutique shops, along with a beautiful river walk and the Roman wall for the history enthusiast. Just a few miles away, you will find the Terris Novalis, two striking pieces of sculpture relating to the old steel works of the town. Walking enthusiasts will enjoy the many walks around the town of Consett, whilst cyclists can take the C2C cycle route, taking in many lovely views. While Durham is 20 minutes away and Newcastle city 30 minutes drive.
    Surrounded by acres of grounds and fields, there is also a full size tennis court directly behind the cottage, which visitors are welcome to enjoy.
