Set in the countryside of Leintwardine, this modern barn conversion is the perfect place to relax in and enjoy a rural retreat. The off grid, eco-conversion is thoughtfully simple and modern, to complement the beauty of its surroundings. There is an open plan living and kitchen area with sliding doors making the most of the views, at one end the modern fitted kitchen there’s an island and dining area, which makes a great social space, and perfect for entertaining or enjoying a family meal. The kitchen comes well-equipped with the usual appliances as well as an air fryer and a L’Or coffee machine. At the other end of the room, you’ll find a comfortable living area with a smart TV as well as further entertainment in the way of books and games, and sliding doors lead out to the garden. There is also a wood burner which is laid ready to light on your arrival. The accommodation is all on one level with underfloor heating throughout. There are three super king beds with one being a zip and link bed, two of which have en-suite shower rooms, and there is also a separate family bathroom.
Jacob’s Plock is nestled in a quiet spot, just outside of the village and enjoys a peaceful and private plot in the countryside, whilst benefitting from the village amenities, a short drive or walk away. Leintwardine is a small rural village in North Herefordshire, close to Shropshire and the border of Wales, surrounded by rolling hills and countryside. A particular popular area for cyclists and walkers. The village has a comprehensively stocked store/fuel station. There are two pubs, one of which has an excellent restaurant beside the river, and one that was a parlour pub beautifully restored which serves pub snacks and a good selection of ales. There is also an award-winning fish and chip shop in the village. Just ten miles away, the market town of Ludlow is a popular place to visit and hosts annual festivals and various events year-round. From ancient castles to medieval market towns and museums, the area is steeped in history with plenty of places to visit.

Both bedrooms have exposed beams and feature brickwork walls. The garden is equipped with a pergola, a seating area with wooden tables, and chairs, and a barbecue. The lockable shed within the garden is suitable for storing bikes. Set within the grounds of Springfield Barns is a 2-acre field that guests can use along with the owners and other guests. There is also a second seating area off the dining area that catches the morning sun.
The Coach House is situated just outside the village of Baschurch which is near Shrewsbury and Ellesmere. Baschurch offers pubs, takeaways, churches, a large convenience store, and a cash point. The local bus, which operates between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere, collects and drops off on Springfield Barn main drive allowing guests to leave the car behind.
Shropshire is a gem of a county with so much to explore within easy reach, and is home to Ironbridge World Heritage Site and numerous National Trust sites including Attingham Park. Shrewsbury town offers fantastic fresh dining, individual shops, craft markets, museums, art galleries, and the stunning Dingle set within the Quarry Park. Jackdaw Cottage sits on the Glyndwr’s Way footpath on the edge of the beautiful town of Knighton, within easy walking distance from the Offa’s Dyke Visitors Centre as well as the restaurants, bars and cafes in the town centre. It is on the south facing slope of a lovely small green valley know as ‘the Cwm’. The stone property is 200 years old with exposed stone walls and oak lintels. It has a large, enclosed garden and patio overlooking the wooded valley with private access to the clear babbling brook. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard in 2022/2023 with some beautiful character features throughout, perfect for a family holiday or romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. it’s great for children and your four-legged friends to run about in this open space whilst you watch on, with a glass of something nice and listen to the local wildlife.
Throughout the year there are some lively fairs celebrated, and all year round, you will find an array of antique and gift shops, tea rooms, old inns, good food and friendly locals in Knighton. Local attractions include Offa’s Dyke Heritage Centre, Powys Observatory with Planetarium Show, golf, clay pigeon shooting and coarse fishing. The historic town of Ludlow, Hay-on-Wye with its antiquarian bookshops, and Presteigne all host cultural festivals during the summer months and are just a short drive away.

Visit Bridgnorth with its renowned funicular railway or take a trip on the Severn Valley Railway to experience the delights of the bygone era of steam travel. If you like walking, there are plenty of places to visit, including the Long Mynd, Clee Hills or Stiperstones. Telford is only 20 miles away and the Ironbridge Gorge with Blists Hill Museum and numerous activities for sunny or wet days.
