Being located directly in front of the A528, Olivet provides easy access to Shrewsbury, Ellesmere, and major motorways. Both Shrewsbury and Ellesmere have lots to offer. With the Shropshire canal at Ellesmere being a must see for a chance to explore nature. Shrewsbury is a busy medieval town, with its riverside walks, theatre and plenty of excellent independent shops, eateries, and bars, including an award-winning indoor market. This delightful property is in an ideal spot for those wishing to explore mid and north Wales, and the Cheshire borders too.

This lovely, detached cottage offers guests a fantastic base in which to explore this lovely part of the County, the property is set close to the historic town of Ironbridge which is a World Heritage Site.
The towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock are all close by and all offer plenty for guests to see and do including many independent shops and restaurants, along with access to the beautiful Shropshire Hills and many more National Trust and English Heritage sites. Telford town centre is just a short drive away and is home to family attractions including Telford Town Park and the children’s playground Wonderland, as well as restaurants and the town centre. For those looking for a day out shopping, Shrewsbury town is half an hour away.
Shropshire has an array of outdoor activities on offer including kayaking, canoeing, cycling, walking, gliding, golf, fishing and horse racing. The area is never short of places to visit with a plethora of castles, abbeys, farms, museums, discovery centres, gardens, parks and historic houses.

Tucked away in the beautiful village of Pontesford, Elsie’s Cottage is a great holiday home for those hoping to explore the Shropshire Hills. With outstanding views of the surrounding countryside from every window, and attractive features such as original beams, this idyllic cottage has been lovingly kept by the family for generations. It is perfectly suited to one or two couples, or a family of up to five. Pontesford is located on the A488 outside the large village of Pontesbury, south west of Shrewsbury. Being within the Shropshire hills you will be well placed to enjoy long walks or cycle rides in the beautiful and ever-changing countryside. The ground floor comprises a cosy living room with brick chimney breast and original features. The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances for your stay. There is a ground floor double bedroom with adjoining family bathroom. Upstairs is a sitting room with double sofa bed and second bedroom with double bed. two adjoining bedrooms, offering flexible sleeping options. A double bedroom, and a snug with sofa bed for an extra guest. There is ample parking for two cars, complimented by a large garden which is a great place to let your dog run free whilst you enjoy the stunning views.

From Elsie’s Cottage is the Earl’s and Pontesford Hill. Very popular with walkers throughout the year. Footpaths lead around the hill, through grazing pasture, or head up through the woodlands. Two routes are waymarked around the hill; the green signs for the easier route and the purple for the more demanding route that leads to the summit. Just down the road is the larger village of Pontesbury, where you will find a supermarket, chemist, Post Office, butchers and plenty of smaller interesting shops, plus three good pubs to enjoy a meal out one evening. Alternatively spend the day in the bustling and historical town of Shrewsbury, birthplace of Charles Darwin. Famed for its intriguing ‘Shuts and Passages’ and overlooked by Shrewsbury Castle, home to the Shropshire Regimental Museum, the town nestles in the crook of the River Severn. The Quarry parkland follows the length of the river and features ‘The Dingle’; an outstanding formal garden and water feature with lots of seating for relaxing and taking in the view. With museums, the Theatre Severn and numerous independent shops and places to eat, the town has plenty to offer all ages. Within a short distance you can also find the towns of Much Wenlock and Ludlow and various sites of historic interest. A beautiful rural location, perfect for an all-year round break at Elsie’s Cottage.

Betchcott is a hamlet near the village of Picklescott in Shropshire. It lies in the parish of Smethcott, in the northern foothills of the Long Mynd. The nearest town is Church Stretton. If it is time for a break away together, Keepers Cottage has you covered with all sorts of family friendly comforts. Even your dogs will find the large, enclosed garden a treat. Plus, if you would like to bring your horse along, yes you read that correctly, the owners can provide stables for up to six horses, along with a menage and three paddocks. There’s livestock on the farm and a beautiful private lake for everyone to enjoy, the owners are very close by and welcome you to enjoy all the facilities.
Inside, you have a well-equipped kitchen and dining area beneath wooden beams, complete with a Rayburn oven, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave. There is a roomy utility room, with more cooking facilities, a sink, and washing machine. Plus, a ground floor larder, with supplies and there is a ground floor toilet. Just off the kitchen is a lovely room for reading or playing board games, its light and airy and a great place to relax after a day out exploring.
The living room is open plan with the kitchen and dining area and very welcoming, offering a Smart TV and wood burner. The house was rebuilt in 2010 to a very high standard and features green oak beams and a warm, homely feel. Upstairs offers three bedrooms, sleeping up to six. The family bathroom is centred between them all, although the double does have an en-suite shower and toilet, so there won’t be any queues for the shower.
Outside Keepers Cottage is an expansive garden which loops around the property, including a decked area with outdoor furniture, a patio, and a large lawn for everyone to enjoy. The nearby pub is quintessentially English and is full of rustic charm and character, with oak beams, open fires, and a wonderfully warm atmosphere, only a short walk away.
Church Stretton is the main shopping area and has well known various independent shops from kitchen supplies to clothing. It also provides all the essentials with a supermarket and post office. The owners have plenty of recommendations for excellent places to eat around the wider area. You are within easy reach of the Shropshire Hills and The Long Mynd, which is excellent to explore by foot or bike and for anyone who enjoys nature.
Picklescott is ideally placed for access to Ride UK routes and the many miles of bridleways which criss-cross the Long Mynd for those bringing your horses. Further afield there is Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town and an architectural gem with a lively community feel, busy with events and festivals throughout the year. Perhaps the area’s charm is most evident in where you are staying, make use of the private lake for fishing or take a walk to soak in the breathtaking scenery. There is a lot to appreciate, and Keepers Cottage is sure to be a highlight of your next stay.

This marvellous farmhouse offers groups of up to eight a picturesque stay in rural Shropshire, you will instantly feel relaxed here, with the calm surroundings.
Located on a working farm set back from the farmhouse, in a village called Rhydycroesau, just over four miles from Oswestry. The house is wonderful and remote, offering you plenty of peace and quiet, yet there are lots of country walks right from your doorstep, including the Rhydycroesau Woodlands and the Oswestry Old Racecourse Common Heritage Site to explore. Cynynion Uchaf has a homely and comfortable interior, with aspects of character showcasing the original beams, along with little touches of rural charm. You will love the comfy furnishings, hidden cupboards, and beautiful original red brick floors. There are plenty of seating areas to spend time together and younger guests can retreat to the snug with an impressive inglenook fireplace, electric log fire, leather sofa, two reclining armchairs and a TV with Firestick and DVD player for entertainment. The conservatory is a light filled space overlooking the beautiful garden where you can sit and enjoy the birdsong.
You are near to some great places to visit in and around Oswestry, including The British Ironwork Centre, Park Hall the Countryside Experience, Cae Glas Park, Oswestry Iron Age Hill Fort, Oswestry Castle and St Oswalds Church. A short drive takes you to National Trust houses at Chirk, Erddig, Attingham Park and Powis Castle.
Lake Vyrnwy, Snowdonia National Park and the Canal World Heritage Site at Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, near to Llangollen are also popular places to visit. The Roman City Chester provides a good day out, with city walls to walk, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, a 1000-year-old Cathedral, plus the Zoo! As you are staying in the grounds of a working farm, the family who own the property and run the farm are always happy to say hello and help in any way they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Set in the countryside of Leintwardine, this modern barn conversion is the perfect place to relax in and enjoy a rural retreat. The off grid, eco-conversion is thoughtfully simple and modern, to complement the beauty of its surroundings. There is an open plan living and kitchen area with sliding doors making the most of the views, at one end the modern fitted kitchen there’s an island and dining area, which makes a great social space, and perfect for entertaining or enjoying a family meal. The kitchen comes well-equipped with the usual appliances as well as an air fryer and a L’Or coffee machine. At the other end of the room, you’ll find a comfortable living area with a smart TV as well as further entertainment in the way of books and games, and sliding doors lead out to the garden. There is also a wood burner which is laid ready to light on your arrival. The accommodation is all on one level with underfloor heating throughout. There are three super king beds with one being a zip and link bed, two of which have en-suite shower rooms, and there is also a separate family bathroom.
Jacob’s Plock is nestled in a quiet spot, just outside of the village and enjoys a peaceful and private plot in the countryside, whilst benefitting from the village amenities, a short drive or walk away. Leintwardine is a small rural village in North Herefordshire, close to Shropshire and the border of Wales, surrounded by rolling hills and countryside. A particular popular area for cyclists and walkers. The village has a comprehensively stocked store/fuel station. There are two pubs, one of which has an excellent restaurant beside the river, and one that was a parlour pub beautifully restored which serves pub snacks and a good selection of ales. There is also an award-winning fish and chip shop in the village. Just ten miles away, the market town of Ludlow is a popular place to visit and hosts annual festivals and various events year-round. From ancient castles to medieval market towns and museums, the area is steeped in history with plenty of places to visit.

These two properties are in the pretty village of Burwarton, at the foot of The Brown Clee Hill, and located just a minutes walk from a country pub ’The Boyne Arms’, which has been renovated and is run by the owners’ of these properties. The Boyne Arms offers fantastic meals in a most comfortable and cosy setting, the beer garden outside now includes private pods which guests can use to enjoy their drinks and food outside (see their website for opening and serving times). Included in your short break will be a return journey to either Ludlow or Bridgnorth, to enhance your stay without the need to worry about transport.
The Old School House 1 (UK32061) is a three bedroomed property of which one is en-suite and has a mezzanine balcony overlooking the open plan living space. The Old Kitchen (UK32062) is a studio apartment with the bedroom area in with the living area.
Burwarton is close to Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Bridgnorth which all offer an array of attractions as well as a large range of shops and bars. For the more active guests there are many walks to enjoy such as Clee Burf and Brown Clee Hill which is the highest point in Shropshire. The town of Ludlow is also just a short drive away and highlights for the day include Mortimer Forest and Ludlow Castle. After a long day walking and exploring all that Shropshire has to offer. Beyond the cottage, explore the historic town of Ironbridge where you’ll find museums, outdoor activities, and a variety of cafe and restaurant options. There’s Blists Hill, a Victorian village to explore. Enginuity, an indoor science and engineering museum is perfect for a visit with children, especially on rainy days! It has plenty of hands-on puzzles and challenges and can be found just down the road from the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Darby Houses, Jackfield Tile Museum, and Coalport China Museum. There is plenty to see and do! Or perhaps choose an activity on the river Severn... if you don’t have your own canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard, you can hire one from Shropshire Raft Tours to get on the water and see this iconic location from a different perspective.
Further afield is Shrewsbury, a medieval market town full of independent boutiques, giftshops and galleries, prepare to be delighted. There’s a vibrant, and exciting indoor market hall too, packed with quirky shops and lovely food stalls, which has been voted Britain’s favourite market.

Set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cosy cottage is tucked away in the heart of the rolling Shropshire countryside. This is a walkers paradise, discover footpaths just a stroll from the cottage, or drive a short way to explore the stunning scenery of the Long Mynd, Cardingmill Valley and Stiperstones. This property has been tastefully converted from a farm building, in a small hamlet just outside Craven Arms, where the pilgrims are thought to have rested at the round house there, on their journey between Wigmore and Shrewsbury Abbeys. Surrounded by restful country, there are some super walks direct from the property. The historic towns of Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Ironbridge are within an easy drive. Locally there is fishing, horse riding and golf. Clun and Offa’s Dyke close by. Nearby towns within easy reach include medieval Ludlow, Knighton and Bishops Castle.
