A lovely barn conversion set in the Shropshire countryside just 10 miles from the historic town of Shrewsbury. Offering spacious accommodation, this beautifully appointed barn with modern styling and high-quality furnishings has been lovingly restored and retains all the original beams. The large utility room leads into the vaulted open-plan kitchen and dining area with beautifully restored original exposed beams. This bright and airy area naturally allows for social interactions while the dinner is being prepared. The kitchen is fully fitted and well-equipped, and patio doors lead out onto the seating area within the gravel garden. Further into the cottage is the relaxing living area with a wood burner, comfortable seating, and a Smart TV. The bedrooms and bathroom are at the far end of the cottage. Both bedrooms have exposed beams and feature brickwork walls. The garden is equipped with a pergola, a seating area with wooden tables, and chairs, and a barbecue. The lockable shed within the garden is suitable for storing bikes. Set within the grounds of Springfield Barns is a 2-acre field that guests can use along with the owners and other guests. There is also a second seating area off the dining area that catches the morning sun.
The Coach House is situated just outside the village of Baschurch which is near Shrewsbury and Ellesmere. Baschurch offers pubs, takeaways, churches, a large convenience store, and a cash point. The local bus, which operates between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere, collects and drops off on Springfield Barn main drive allowing guests to leave the car behind.
Shropshire is a gem of a county with so much to explore within easy reach, and is home to Ironbridge World Heritage Site and numerous National Trust sites including Attingham Park. Shrewsbury town offers fantastic fresh dining, individual shops, craft markets, museums, art galleries, and the stunning Dingle set within the Quarry Park. The cottage is set within the boundary of the owner’s grounds and neighbours the owner’s home. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The nearest town to Hill View Lodges is the small market town of Cleobury Mortimer, an historic and quirky town with an array of shops to browse through. These two properties are in the pretty village of Burwarton, at the foot of The Brown Clee Hill, and located just a minutes walk from a country pub ’The Boyne Arms’, which has been renovated and is run by the owners’ of these properties. The Boyne Arms offers fantastic meals in a most comfortable and cosy setting, the beer garden outside now includes private pods which guests can use to enjoy their drinks and food outside (see their website for opening and serving times). Included in your short break will be a return journey to either Ludlow or Bridgnorth, to enhance your stay without the need to worry about transport.
The Old School House 1 (UK32061) is a three bedroomed property of which one is en-suite and has a mezzanine balcony overlooking the open plan living space. The Old Kitchen (UK32062) is a studio apartment with the bedroom area in with the living area.
Burwarton is close to Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Bridgnorth which all offer an array of attractions as well as a large range of shops and bars. For the more active guests there are many walks to enjoy such as Clee Burf and Brown Clee Hill which is the highest point in Shropshire. The town of Ludlow is also just a short drive away and highlights for the day include Mortimer Forest and Ludlow Castle. After a long day walking and exploring all that Shropshire has to offer. Kingfisher Cottage (ref RNN3) occupies an outstanding position overlooking the Severn Valley. The large family kitchen with glazed dining area overlooks the garden and outside patio area, whilst the spacious comfortable living room offers a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in. The property has the added benefit of a ground floor en-suite bedroom, as well as five further en-suite bedrooms on the first floor. The gardens and barbecue area provide wonderful waterside views. Another popular pastime in the area is fishing, which is available for guests of the cottages on Chelmarsh Reservoir and also on the River Severn (day permits can be purchased from local fishing tackle shops). Ideally located near to the historic town of Bridgnorth and the Severn Valley railway, with RAF Cosford a short drive away, the cottages make an ideal base for touring. The Ironbridge Gorge Museum and the hills of the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge are about 10 miles away, whilst there are many interesting walks from the door as well as numerous picturesque villages waiting to be explored. Further afield a great place for a day trip is the West Midlands Safari Park. Shops 3 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Just a short car journey takes you to the world famous Ironbridge and its popular museums, The Royal Air Force Museum and Boscobel House. A few miles upstream of Bridgnorth is Shrewsbury, England’s finest Tudor town, which has one of the best waterfronts, a wide variety of shops, bars and a riverside theatre. Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Dudmaston Hall, Rays Farm Country Matters, Much Wenlock, West Midland Safari Park, Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow are also well worth a visit.
