Set in its own beautiful, secluded grounds, Marton Hall provides luxury accommodation in a picturesque Shropshire hamlet, 9 miles from Shrewsbury. Sleeping up to twelve guests, this detached Arts and Crafts home has been revived to expose the house’s original character by restoring every detail. The owners have worked tirelessly over the last three years to create a charming mixture of traditional features and stylish interiors.
Marton Hall provides an amazing stay for friends or family to celebrate a special occasion or just escape to. A spacious entrance hall greets you; the main stairway leads to the upper floor giving access to the west wing bedrooms. The property has six elegant en-suite bedrooms, each offering something unique, from feature fireplaces and antique beds to window seats. Stunning views of the grounds can be seen from all bedrooms, five of which are on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The living area comprises two spacious reception rooms with rich textures and quality furnishings. The living room features a wood burner, and the snug has an open fire along with an Oled TV. To the right of the entrance hall is a large, fully fitted kitchen with an Aga and central island. There is also a large rectangular dining table and swing back benches. The formal dining room features a contemporary library. The games room offers a 3/4 sized snooker/pool table, a games console and TV. A utility room and ground floor toilet complete the accommodation.
Outside is a large garden room, perfect for al fresco dining or relaxing. The glazing on two sides allows you to take in the wonderful views of the Shropshire hills in the distance whilst sheltered from the weather. There is a sunken lawn surrounded by flower beds. Guests can also explore 150 acres of beautiful grounds with park land, lawned garden, a private lake and surrounding fields.
The local village of Baschurch offers a small supermarket, two pubs, and a post office, within walking distance. With Shrewsbury approximately 20 minutes’ drive away, there’s a variety of things to do making it a great day out. Shrewsbury is full of finds to be discovered by foot or boat, the River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, the castle, the old market hall featuring local artists and lovely shops and eateries. There’s a produce and farmers’ market held regularly in the square, as well as a fantastic theatre. Visit Ironbridge Gorge, home of the world’s oldest working cast-iron bridge. Ramble through the Shropshire Hills, enjoying the countryside as you go. You can also drive your own steam train or dine in style on the Severn Valley Railway. Or venture over to the iconic foodie town of Ludlow.

The towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock are all close by and all offer plenty for guests to see and do including many independent shops and restaurants, along with access to the beautiful Shropshire Hills and many more National Trust and English Heritage sites. Telford town centre is just a short drive away and is home to family attractions including Telford Town Park and the children’s playground Wonderland, as well as restaurants and the town centre. For those looking for a day out shopping, Shrewsbury town is half an hour away.
Shropshire has an array of outdoor activities on offer including kayaking, canoeing, cycling, walking, gliding, golf, fishing and horse racing. The area is never short of places to visit with a plethora of castles, abbeys, farms, museums, discovery centres, gardens, parks and historic houses.

This stunning detached holiday lodge is located in a superb position, on the same site as the largest waterwheel powering a corn mill, still working in England today and virtually unaltered since the 18th century - still in ownership of the same family for over 250 years. Visitors to the area are a 1-mile walk from the town centre, where you will find High Town and Low Town, plus the famous cliff railway. There are good road links to the rest of south Shropshire including Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Shrewsbury, where you can enjoy anything from castles, festivals, and horse racing to the events at Theatre Severn. A lovely barn conversion set in the Shropshire countryside just 10 miles from the historic town of Shrewsbury. Offering spacious accommodation, this beautifully appointed barn with modern styling and high-quality furnishings has been lovingly restored and retains all the original beams. The large utility room leads into the vaulted open-plan kitchen and dining area with beautifully restored original exposed beams. This bright and airy area naturally allows for social interactions while the dinner is being prepared. The kitchen is fully fitted and well-equipped, and patio doors lead out onto the seating area within the gravel garden. Further into the cottage is the relaxing living area with a wood burner, comfortable seating, and a Smart TV. The bedrooms and bathroom are at the far end of the cottage. Both bedrooms have exposed beams and feature brickwork walls. The garden is equipped with a pergola, a seating area with wooden tables, and chairs, and a barbecue. The lockable shed within the garden is suitable for storing bikes. Set within the grounds of Springfield Barns is a 2-acre field that guests can use along with the owners and other guests. There is also a second seating area off the dining area that catches the morning sun.
The Coach House is situated just outside the village of Baschurch which is near Shrewsbury and Ellesmere. Baschurch offers pubs, takeaways, churches, a large convenience store, and a cash point. The local bus, which operates between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere, collects and drops off on Springfield Barn main drive allowing guests to leave the car behind.

This delightful dog friendly barn conversion is set within easy reach of the beautiful historic town of Shrewsbury with its fascinating architecture including 600 listed buildings, castle, museums, many independent shops as well as your high street essentials, the famous Arts Trail throughout July and August is just one of its many festivals and it has a wealth of traditional inns and restaurants.
Easily accessible is popular Church Stretton, on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is fabulous walking country with many famous hills such as the Long Mynd with the beautiful Carding Mill Valley, the Wrekin and the Lawley.
Shropshire’s finest and most attractive town Ludlow is within easy reach, framed by the gentle Clee Hills, with its impressive castle, magnificent church, half-timbered buildings, Georgian red-brick houses and different markets five days a week such as general, farmers, craft, or antique.
Bridgnorth has what is reputed to be the steepest cliff railway in Britain and superb cliff-top walks overlooking the River Severn below. From here, during summer, the Severn Valley Railway’s steam train chugs the scenic 16-mile route to Kidderminster. Attingham Park (National Trust), Benthall Hall (National Trust), Ironbridge Gorge and the old market town of Much Wenlock, with its medieval priory, are all within easy driving distance. Set next to the owner’s own property, The Roost is set in a peaceful and quiet part of the Shropshire countryside.

These two properties are in the pretty village of Burwarton, at the foot of The Brown Clee Hill, and located just a minutes walk from a country pub ’The Boyne Arms’, which has been renovated and is run by the owners’ of these properties. The Boyne Arms offers fantastic meals in a most comfortable and cosy setting, the beer garden outside now includes private pods which guests can use to enjoy their drinks and food outside (see their website for opening and serving times). Included in your short break will be a return journey to either Ludlow or Bridgnorth, to enhance your stay without the need to worry about transport.
The Old School House 1 (UK32061) is a three bedroomed property of which one is en-suite and has a mezzanine balcony overlooking the open plan living space. The Old Kitchen (UK32062) is a studio apartment with the bedroom area in with the living area.
Burwarton is close to Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Bridgnorth which all offer an array of attractions as well as a large range of shops and bars. For the more active guests there are many walks to enjoy such as Clee Burf and Brown Clee Hill which is the highest point in Shropshire. The town of Ludlow is also just a short drive away and highlights for the day include Mortimer Forest and Ludlow Castle. After a long day walking and exploring all that Shropshire has to offer. Shrewsbury is the birthplace of Charles Darwin and is a wonder of medieval black and white buildings. The town offers fantastic dining, individual shops, craft markets, museums, art galleries and the stunning Dingle within the Quarry Park.
The barn is set within the boundary of the owner’s grounds and it neighbours The Parlour (ref UK10958) on one side. There is private parking for two cars within the main parking area and the property is accessed from the main drive.
You step through the front door into a very modern, bright, airy open plan conversion with vaulted ceilings and beautifully restored original exposed beams. Firstly, into the fully fitted and equipped kitchen area with breakfast bar, oven, microwave, fridge and ample storage space. Then into the living area with dining table for two people and the peaceful living area with a 32” Freeview TV and sofa. To the rear of the living area is the sleeping area with a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room. It is surprisingly spacious for a sleeps two conversion.

Just 4 miles is the centre of Bridgnorth, with its castle ruins, fantastic river and countryside views, two railways, one steam and one funicular railway, and a good selection of shops bars and restaurants. Shropshire has many quaint towns and villages to visit including Much Wenlock, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Shrewsbury, all are accessible within a 30-minute drive. Activity centres are dotted around the county offering anything from clay shooting, high ropes and canoeing to mountain biking and Segway and quad trekking. Nearby is also the historical National Trust Attingham Park, Wenlock Edge and Cardingmill Valley, as well as Stokesay and Ludlow castles. The Secret Hills Discovery Centre and Acton Scott Working Farm are great for children, and the glider centre on the Long Mynd and horse racing at Ludlow are also available nearby.
