Anderby is situated very close to Anderby Creek, ideal for both summer seaside holidays and relaxing winter escapes. You can enjoy watching the seals at Donna Nook, as well as cycling, walking, golf and birdwatching, which are all popular local pastimes. Enjoy some family fun at Skegness and the wildlife of the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, which are found just 8 miles away. Alternatively, historic Lincoln, with its soaring cathedral, cobbled streets, interesting shops and Christmas markets, is an easy drive, as are the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds. Golfers will love the famous links course at Sandilands, as well as North Shore and Seacroft golf courses in Skegness, only a short drive away. Horncastle and Alford have a good selection of antiques and collectables shops. Stepping inside from the pavement you are welcomed into the living area which ensures that you will always be snug and cosy even on the coldest of winter evenings with the woodburner in the hearth, bathing the room in its warming glow. The kitchen is at the rear of the property and is modern yet tastefully chosen in keeping with the style of the cottage which flows effortlessly throughout each room. Also on the ground floor you have the shower room with a rainforest shower. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the master bedroom has an original feature fireplace as well as built in wardrobes and a dressing table. The second bedroom has a bunk bed which has a strong solid structure and is suitable for adults as well as children. Outside at the back of the cottage you have the enclosed private patio which boasts your own covered hot tub, perfect for winding down together as the day draws to an end. There is also the fabulous addition of a purpose-built dog shower. Ensuring your furry friend can have a warm rinse down after a day of exploring. This outdoor shower is also great for wet suits and swimming costumes after a day at the beach – or even for very sandy children! From the patio you can see the rolling hills on the moorland enticing you out to explore.

For a scenic walk Roseberry Topping is the highest viewpoint on the moors and it is near to Captain Cook’s Monument so you can extend the hike if you wish. Or why not take time to visit the many beautiful towns, villages and bays along the nearby coastline? Starting at Saltburn, then Staithes, Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and beyond, the Cleveland Way walking trail connects them all. All ideal for a day out taking in the sights whilst soaking up the history and culture. With surf schools and board hire in the coastal towns you can enjoy a day out on the sea, or perhaps even join a fishing trip. Highbury Farm Cottage is a pretty estate cottage on a working farm in the village of Duggleby on the southern side of the Great Wold Valley within the stunning Yorkshire Wolds and close to popular market town of Malton. This delightful cottage is perfect for two couples or a family of four and its right next to the main farm house and is surrounded by a large traditional courtyard of stables, home to the owners horses. You can even bring your own horses with you on holiday (additional charges apply).
It is the perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring. Step inside straight into the kitchen/dining room and you can feel the history of the cottage. The kitchen provides all the culinary amenities you need to cook for your fellow travel companions and the dining table provides seating for four. The living room has a lovely open fire; great for snuggling up to on an evening during the cooler winter months. A downstairs toilet is tucked away to the rear of the property. The first floor has two beautiful boutique style bedrooms, offering both twin and double accommodation. Decorated in soft tones and with luxury soft furnishing these rooms are sure to delight. The house bathroom offers a bath with shower over. The bedrooms are interconnecting however the double room has it’s own private staircase leading down to the kitchen. Outside is large enclosed, dog friendly garden with gated access out onto the country lane behind the cottage.
Highbury Farm Cottage is close to Duggleby Howe, an ancient burial ground and Wharram Percy a deserted medieval village. Within a short drive is the popular market town of Malton, known as the ’foodie captial’ of Yorkshire. Here you will find a plethora of independent shops, tea rooms and restaurants. The stately homes of Sledmere Hall and Castle Howard are also within a short drive. With miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore, makes this area a mecca for walkers and cyclists alike.

With access to fabulous country trails for walking, cycling and outdoor activities, Hillside Cottage is a real haven for nature lovers; the town of Haltwhistle is home to many rare flowers and plants including wild alpine plants not to be found anywhere else in the country. Known as the geographical centre of Britain, the town as a destination offers a great deal of things to do for all tastes and age groups, with so much to see and do right from the doorstep. Just three miles from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall, visit the roman forts of Housesteads and Vindolanda, or Chester’s. The surrounding landscape is stunning, enjoy a walk to Sycamore Gap and see the most photographed, iconic tree from the movie ‘Robin Hood’ or take a hike on the Pennine Way.
For younger families there is a nearby play park and in the summer months a heated open air swimming pool. For the teenagers and young of heart a day of action and adventure awaits at nearby Go Ape, Matfen - swing through the trees and fly down the zip wires while taking in some of the finest scenery in Northumberland. Welcome to Holgates, refurbished in 2024 and beautifully presented, ensuring the perfect holiday in the Somerset countryside, just a mile from the Devon border. With a recently installed air source heat pump, solar panels on the property, ecological cleaning products and recycling of household waste, we take pride in our efforts to have as little impact upon the environment as possible, and we plan to continue improving.
Holgates is set on one level, accessed via the conservatory into the well-equipped kitchen/dining room, with wonderful views across the garden and fields beyond. In the living room is plenty of seating, an electric fire for cosy evenings and French doors opening onto the garden and views of the rolling hills. The inner hallway has a games table and leads to the two bedrooms and main bathroom. The master bedroom has a super kingsize bed, a TV and hairdryer. There is room for us to make up a cot. The second bedroom can be made up into a kingsize bed or two singles.
The enclosed garden has a terrace with table and chairs, as well as a coal barbeque, and you will find a selection of garden games in the conservatory. The hot tub offers the perfect spot for relaxing.
Situated on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of the Quantock Hills and Honiton. For family entertainment, head to the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, The West Somerset Steam Railway, or for the younger ones, visit Crealy Adventure Park near Exeter. The Blackdown Hills themselves offer some superb country walking, wildlife, flying for the adventurous at Dunkeswell Airdrome or simply enjoy the local village pubs. Within a 40-minute drive, visit the Jurassic Coast and the seaside town of Lyme Regis, and slightly further afield Weston Super Mare, or even Bath with its many restaurants, shops and museums. South Coast Devon beaches are just 18 miles away and the Somerset northern beach 26 miles.
By arrangement with the owner and at cost, stables and fields can be used for your horse, with hacking and bridlepaths close by.

If you are looking for a sumptuous, romantic break then look no further than Horseshoes House, which has been lovingly renovated by the owners to provide everything you need for a gorgeous getaway. Horseshoes House enjoys a feature bath and a roaring open fire, both perfect for rest and relaxation. Please note that the property is a 200-year-old Norfolk cottage and there are a couple of steps internally where particular care needs to be taken, and perhaps not suitable for those with mobility issues.
You will find it hard to tear yourself away but should you manage to do so, you will find a wealth of local attractions to explore and enjoy. Visit Thetford Forest for High Lodge Forest Adventure, Go Ape high ropes course and lots of great walking and cycling routes. Or be at the stunning North Norfolk coastline is under an hour and enjoy wide sandy beaches, marshes, quays and lots of great places to eat, drink and shop. The fine city of Norwich is also within easy reach and here you will find a splendid Norman castle, a beautiful cathedral and numerous museums and attractions. All on one level, with panoramic views over the countryside, guests will find Jasmine Cottage warm and welcoming. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area with dining table and 4 chairs, is light and spacious, and has windows looking out over the horses in the field opposite. Customers are welcome to bring their own dog to stay. It should be noted that the owners have their own pets on site (very friendly); a lovely golden retriever, two cats, and 4 horses and 4 sheep.

Situated in the owner’s grounds, yet quietly nestled away, this semi-detached bungalow is 4 miles from the popular village of Lanchester, 3 miles from Consett for supermarkets and pubs and just 11 miles away from the city of Durham. The perfect spot for a quiet break, the village of Lanchester offers a super selection of places to eat, including three local pubs, an Italian restaurant and fish and chip shop. The very well regarded Knitsley Farm Shop is also only a little over 2 miles away and has a fabulous selection of local food and drink, and is definitely worth the trip.

Ideal for guests who enjoy walking and cycling. There are numerous established public footpaths, walks and cycle paths close by, and the nearest cycle path is the C2C. The beautiful hills and valleys of Teesdale and Weardale are both between 20 and 30 minutes’ drive away, and walkers will find themselves surrounded by some of the most scenic countryside that County Durham has to offer. Hadrian’s Wall can be reached within an hour’s drive too and offers a more historic trail for walkers to take. The Derwent Valley Railway Path leads east towards the outskirts of Durham and is very popular with cyclists, whilst the Waskerley Way leads west and on into the vast open spaces of Weardale.

Jasmine Cottage has a sheltered area with a bar to lock bikes onto, so cycling enthusiasts will be able to bring their bikes and explore to their hearts content. The perfect base for guests wanting to enjoy a spot of history and culture, the cathedral city of Durham offers plenty of attractions to enjoy at all times of year. Also ideal for parents wanting to visit children, family members or friends who are studying at Durham University. Guests will be able to visit Beamish Living Museum, Gateshead and the Metro Centre, Newcastle-upon-Tyne the popular market town of Corbridge with its riverside walks and Hexham and its abbey. The beautiful Northumberland coast and castles, historic houses are within reach. Perfect for guests wanting to enjoy the Kynren Spectacular that takes place from July-September each year in Bishop Aukland.

Something for all the family awaits you here at St Leonards. Choose one of the four lovely barn conversions for your family holiday and learn something new during your stay here. The barns are located on a horse riding school, where all the family are encouraged to give horse riding a try. Once in the saddle you will want to take it up when you get back home. It is an ideal location for touring the both north and south Cornish coasts and close to the Devon/Cornwall border so you can explore both counties from one base. Whether you wish to take it easy in our pool and bbq area, have a swim, ride a horse, try paintball or even go fishing on the River Kensey close by, there is plenty to keep you entertained and make you want to get out and about and feel invigorated by the fresh Cornish air. Out and about in the region you can head west by car to the Widemouth Heritage Coast and visit mystical Tintagel and Port Isaac Bay, or head east towards Dartmoor’s wilderness; whichever direction you travel in there is sure to be something new to see. Launceston, 2 miles, once the ancient capital of Cornwall, has shops, a steam railway, castle, golf and an indoor leisure centre. A variety of golf courses locally.
