As you step into the property, you’ll be charmed by its tasteful decor, with furniture mainly sourced from the renowned OKA collection, creating an ambiance of elegance and comfort. The property is all on one level located on the ground floor. The living room beckons with its snug ambiance, boasting a Smart TV with Sky for your entertainment. Curl up on the comfortable seating or gather around the additional dining table, while the crackling woodburner creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The kitchen is a culinary haven, featuring Kitchen Aid appliances and a dining table where you can enjoy delightful meals together. French doors lead to the garden and an exciting games room, where entertainment knows no bounds. We happily welcome two small (or one big), well-behaved dogs to join you on your countryside adventure. Although we kindly ask that your furry friend remains on a lead in the garden, they can freely explore the 5-acres of private woodlands and paddocks which is fully enclosed to roam freely.

For a change of scenery, head to the enchanting Chew Valley Lakes, a tranquil haven for nature lovers. If you’re craving adventure and exhilaration, the Mendip Activity Centre is your ultimate destination. Test your skills and push your limits with a range of thrilling activities such as rock climbing, archery, and off-road biking. Within an hour’s drive, you can reach Bristol and Bath. Explore Glastonbury’s Abbey and Tor, Wells’ cathedral and Bishop’s palace, or Cheddar’s famous caves and gorge. All within 30 minutes and promising delightful adventures. Welcome to Bridge Cottage, a beautiful riverside haven set in the hamlet of Henley, close to the town of Langport. As the electric gates open you will get a glimpse into the large private garden, as you drive around the corner Bridge Cottage will be waiting for you. Inside, on the ground floor, you enter into the large boot room and hallway, to the right you will find the spacious and welcoming kitchen/dining room, which is extremely well equipped with all you will need to create everything from the simplest meal to a sumptuous feast. The living room has gorgeous, beamed ceilings, comfy sofas to sink into are centered around the wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings after a day exploring. The cinema room has a large corner sofa, 75” Smart TV and sound system, so close the blinds and snuggle up to watch a blockbuster movie!
Upstairs, each bedroom has been lovingly decorated in its own unique style. The master bedroom has fabulous river views, double bed, dressing area, TV and en-suite shower room. Bedroom two has twin beds, TV and river views. The further three bedrooms are all doubles with a TV in each. The main family bathroom has a dual ended bath, separate shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Outside, the large garden is mainly lawned and has a fabulous patio area with comfortable garden furniture, the ideal spot for al fresco dining. To the rear of the garden, you have the games house, with table tennis and dartboard, many hours will be spent here having friendly (or very competitive) tournaments! There is a further chilled summerhouse that has spectacular views along the river and is the ideal space for some relaxed reading or a drink of your favourite tipple!
You have gated access to the River Cary and during the summer you can take rowing boat for a paddle along the river! There are many walks to be enjoyed directly from Bridge Cottage or head over to Langport, park up the car and walk the Parret Trail along the River Parret and enjoy the local shops and restaurants in Langport. For a dose of ancient history, head to Glastonbury with its Medieval Tor and eclectic mix of shops. For the bargain hunters among you, Clarks Village in Street with its designer outlet is a must visit! The beaches of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare are within an easy drive away for a dose of traditional seaside fare!

This delightful converted 17th century stable building is located within the grounds of the owner’s home in a peaceful rural village setting. The tastefully decorated and comfortable cottage is single storey with patio doors from the living room and bedroom leading onto the garden and patio area. There are many public footpaths leading from the village to explore the surrounding fields and woodland. The beautiful city of Bath has numerous famous attractions, including the Roman Baths and Pump Rooms, The Assembly Rooms and the award-winning Thermae Bath Spa. This charming holiday property is attached to the owners’ Georgian home and is located just south of Chard, near the Devon and west Dorset border. The property has a large shared garden and guests have use of the summerhouse. It offers a great location to enjoy the best of three counties. To the south and within easy driving distance lies the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with the ever popular seaside resorts of Lyme Regis, Beer and Charmouth. To the east is Devon, where one can enjoy days out on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with wonderful walking and stunning scenery. In south Somerset there is much to enjoy, including many historic houses such as Montacute House, Forde Abbey Gardens, Tintinhull and Barrington Court, to name a few. Inland, enjoy days out visiting Glastonbury Tor, Clarks Village Outlet, Cheddar Gorge or nearer to home there is some lovely country walking, fishing at Chard Reservoir or golf at the local golf club. From The Old Manor, you can walk down to the beach, or just up the lane is Dunster Station, which is part of the West Somerset Steam Railway network. The medieval village of Dunster with its impressive castle (National Trust) is a short distance away, as well as a good range of local shops and restaurants. The coastal town of Minehead is nearby, with its promenade, historic harbour and a good range of larger shops and other amenities. Minehead is also the starting point of the South West Coastal Path. The house is ideally suited for a visit to Exmoor National Park where walking is available for all abilities and some stunning views to enjoy across the Bristol Channel. Venture out and visit the village of Porlock Weir, Selworthy and its famous tea room, and the Victorian town of Lynton and Lynmouth. Golf, fishing and horse riding are available locally. Old Orchard Barn - The Annexe is a beautiful converted property in the heart of Buckland St Mary, a gorgeous Somerset village, yet within easy access to the A303. Inside it has been lovingly converted as a relaxing holiday retreat for two to feature a cosy living area with electric wood burner and Smart TV, although with the large windows gazing out over the rolling fields you may never need to switch it on! The living room is open plan with the kitchen although this is up a step, giving it a slightly separate feel. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, and there is a wonderful dining area making the most of the views. Into the bedroom you have an oak kingsize bed with bamboo mattress, Egyptian cotton bedding and an oak dressing table, as well as a hanging area for your clothes, off the bedroom there is a fabulously colourful en-suite with shower cubicle. Outside there is a private garden area with seating and views, perfect for a glass of wine as the sun goes down, there is also a private outdoor swimming pool available from 10am until 4pm (May-Sep only) and shared use of the tennis court - bring your own tennis rackets and tennis shoes (white soles only).
The property is located within the Blackdown Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the Somerset, Devon and Dorset border. There are some beautiful walks in the area, and a Covid-19 secure country public house less than ½ mile away, as well as an Italian restaurant ½ mile in the other direction.
It is set between the market town of Chard, with its shops and museums, and the larger county town of Taunton with its bustling shopping centre, restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities. There are many tourist attractions to visit, from woodland walks to National Trust estates such as Barrington Court and Montacute House. The Quantocks and Exmoor National Park are within easy driving, and for a trip back in time, travel from Taunton along the West Somerset Steam Railway to Minehead.
Further afield you have the Jurassic Coast beaches of Lyme Regis and West Bay, as well as some of Somerset’s great places to visit. Guests can drive to Glastonbury Tor for an exhilarating walk to the top with some magnificent views of Somerset, perhaps calling in at The Clarkes Factory Village and Wells Cathedral and Palace, or head into the other direction into Devon and visit the city of Exeter and have lunch on the quays! Set between the Ancient Medieval town of Glastonbury and England’s smallest City Wells with its wonderful Farmers Market on a Wednesday and Saturday as well as it’s bustling continental café culture, there is an endless list of things to do while staying at Katy. For the keen cyclists there are endless routes along the Somerset levels and bike store with freezer is provided at the cottage. From your front door you are surrounded by countryside walks, nature reserve as well as the well renowned local pub The Sheppey, within walking distance, where you may even spot a famous face or two while sampling the fabulous menu. Head to Street for some retail therapy at Clarks Village, spend a day in Cheddar with its famous Gorge or perhaps meet the Witch of Wookey at Wookey Hole Caves!

Welcome to Crickledown, a gorgeous detached holiday home, perfect for families to get together for some quality time in a fabulous space and location! When you pull into the driveway and Crickledown appears in front of you, you will fall in love straight away.

Inside this large, yet wonderfully laid out home, you have a beautiful entrance way with feature staircase and chandelier, a huge lounge with superb fireplace and woodburning stove, Smart TV and French doors leading to the garden. A second lounge/snug has a Smart TV and is a great space for the kids to have their own fun. The spacious Kitchen has a large Aga for cooking, electric hob, dishwasher and fridge as well as a breakfast area. Off the kitchen is the grand dining room with plenty of seating for everyone. From the kitchen you also have access to the utility room with large fridge/freezer and washing machine. On the ground floor is the downstairs suite complete with double bedroom, lounge and en-suite shower room, the perfect spot for the less mobile or for those who like a bit of their own space. Upstairs, you will find five more bedrooms. The rear facing bedrooms have wonderful views of Glastonbury Tor as does the principal bathroom, which features a spacious walk-in shower and fabulous bath, where you can relax and gaze out over the fields beyond.

Outside, you have a beautiful large garden, part of which is an orchard and a superb place to sit and relax under the shade of the apple trees on a hot day. The patio area has seating and a BBQ area, and there is also a fabulous lawn area for games. The crowning glory of course is the magnificent hot tub, perfectly situated to take in the views of the fields, the garden and the house while you sit back and relax with a glass of your favourite drink.

Crickledown is set in the village of High Ham, just 3 miles from Langport. The Somerset levels are easily accessible as are many of Somersets other attractions. The towns of Taunton, Yeovil and Glastonbury are reached in under 30 minutes by car, with the latter being of note for its ancient historical links and of course the Tor which can be seen from Crickledowns windows. National Trust properties abound nearby and a fun day out for the family can be had on the West Somerset Steam Railway which runs from Bishops Lydeard to the seaside town of Minehead. The high-end kitchen features electric hob, double ovens, built in microwave, fridge freezer, washer/dryer, and dishwasher as well as a breakfast bar, while the dining area has a large table with seating for 11 and the lounge has a Smart TV and comfortable seating. Off the dining area are three ground floor bedrooms, one being a master with king-size bed and en-suite shower room, a double bedroom and a further single bedroom; there is also a large bathroom with bath and separate walk-in shower.
Upstairs you will find 2 further bedrooms, one being a large bedroom with 4 single beds, perfect for children as well as a double bedroom; there is also a bathroom on this floor with bath. Please note there is restricted head height on this floor.
