Old Farm is a stunning Barn conversion in Southwood, just outside of Glastonbury. Converted to an extremely high standard in 2021, it’s the perfect base from which to explore Somerset. Drive past the orchard and enter through the gates into your private driveway where Old Farm awaits you, through the large Oak front door the bright and airy living space opens in front of you to welcome you in. The central open plan living space has beautiful large doors opening to the garden, a wood burner for those cosy evenings and sumptuous furnishings to allow you to relax into whilst watching TV or chilling with a glass of your favourite tipple. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine as well as everything else you will need to whip up a fantastic dinner or just a simple breakfast. There is also a sitting room with large floor to ceiling windows, you can also sleep up to two extra guests on the sofa bed in here. Off the open plan living area you will find the fabulous bedrooms, both have double beds, hairdryers and en-suite bathrooms. Outside you have your private garden, with outdoor seating area and fantastic views across the fields.
There are fabulous walks in all directions that can be taken from the doorstep, whilst the towns of Glastonbury and Street are just under 15 minutes drive away. Glastonbury, famous for its festival and ancient legends, has a great mix of eclectic shops and larger stores whilst Street is well known for its outlet shopping centre, Clarks Village, where designer bargains are to be found! Within an hour’s drive you have a wealth of National Trust properties to explore as well as fun days out at the likes of Longleat and Haynes Motor Museum.

The Cider Barn is decorated and furnished to a very high standard by the owners who have years of experience in the hospitality industry, and the attention to detail is evident in every room.
Downstairs is a fabulous open plan living space, with wonderful Bi-folding doors that open to allow the outside in and giving you great views over the Blackdown hills. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need and the island unit opens it up to the rest of the room, so you can socialise while creating your next culinary masterpiece! The large Master bedroom on the ground floor has a stunning four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower, while upstairs the second large bedroom features a wonderful kingsize bespoke bed, beautiful beamed vaulted ceiling and statement lighting. Heading north, you will find the county town of Taunton with lots of restaurants, cinema, bowling and shopping, and within an hour’s drive you will find Glastonbury, Street, Minehead and the moors of Exmoor! Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills are well worth a visit, as well as a trip to the south to explore the Jurassic Coast between Seaton and Bridport, taking in Lyme Regis. Inland, there is Clarkes Village for some retail therapy, Glastonbury Tor, Somerset Levels, Cheddar Gorge and the spa city of Bath. After spending the day exploring many attractions, return to this delightful property and snuggle up in front of the woodburner, set in a lovely inglenook with bread oven. Beach 20 miles. Welcome to Little Folly, a delightful cottage in the heart of Exmoor’s national park. Refurbished in late 2021, Little Folly provides the perfect escape for two couples or a family looking to get away from it all and head back to nature for a while. On the ground floor you have an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen area with a stunning bay window enjoying amazing views over the garden to the hills beyond. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal that you can enjoy at the table, while the lounge area has comfortable seating to relax after a day on the moors. The ground floor bedroom has a double bed and views over the garden. Head up four steps to the fabulous bathroom which has a P-shaped bath with shower over and heated towel rail. On this level you will also find the main bedroom featuring a super kingsize zip and link bed (which can be made into two singles on request).

Outside you have plenty of parking, and your garden is the perfect place to relax and let your family unwind, and from the doorstep there are miles of walks over the moor. Just a mile down the hill is the village of Winsford with its local pub, or hop in the car and explore the myriad of quaint rural villages dotted around, with tea rooms and country inns that have some of the best views! The beaches of Minehead, Dunster and Blue Anchor are within easy reach and always make for a fun day out. Jump on the West Somerset Steam Railway and chug merrily through the beautiful Somerset countryside. Dulverton is just a 10 minute drive with its shops and supermarket.

The owners have received an Exmoor National Park Dark Sky Friendly business award. This is very exciting as Astro tourism is a growing component of the tourist industry. Our towns and cities create so much light pollution that most people in the UK cannot appreciate the moon, let alone the stars and planets. Exmoor, along with other remote areas of the UK run events to promote the night sky. The garden is ideal for viewing the night sky and there are two sets of Astro binoculars for guests to enjoy the starry sky. Blankets, baked potatoes and a hot drink can also be provided on request.

Coachmans Close is a wonderful cottage in the heart of the quintessential countryside in the village of Milverton. The beautiful cottage is set on a secluded road, all on one level making it perfect for families of all ages. As you enter the driveway the cottage hugs the courtyard and private garden in an L shape. Through the front door to the hallway you have the living room to your left with its parquet flooring and open fire. From here you will find the fully-equipped kitchen benefitting from a Nespresso Coffe Machine (please note guests will need to bring their own pods), with wonderful views across the fields. One of the double bedrooms has views of the courtyard and a gorgeous shower room adjacent with a large walk-in shower with a fabulous rainfall shower head. The master bedroom has French doors which open onto the courtyard. Outside the courtyard has a seating area and the winding path leads to the lawned garden and views over the fields and hills ahead. To the side of the cottage, there is a veranda which is the perfect spot to watch the sunset from and views of the countryside. There are walks in every direction directly from the front door.
Milverton has a shop full of local produce and everything you need, as well as one gastro pub, both just a few minutes walk from the property. Further afield you have the market town of Taunton with its larger stores, restaurants and entertainment facilities such as cinema and bowling alley. For a fun day out why not spend the day riding the rails on the West Somerset Steam Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, spend a couple of hours by the sea before a leisurely chug back to base. Exmoor National Park is reachable in under 20 minutes’ drive with its miles and miles of walks, perfect for a day’s rambling. Beach 16 miles. Shop 350 yards, pub and restaurant 700 yards.

Outside, you have two private courtyard spaces, both of which are fully enclosed and have seating areas where you can sit back and relax or enjoy an al fresco meal. Your four legged family members are able to run around in this area. You also have use of the owner’s enchanting landscaped gardens that lead down to the River Barle, where you are able to spend time fishing as the owners have the rights to this part of the river! *Please keep your dogs on the lead in the main gardens due to the owner’s chickens and ducks.
When staying at Withymead Cottage, you are lucky enough to be staying in one of Exmoor’s most picturesque villages, with its river meandering through, a fabulous tea room, well stocked local shop and a 17th-century pub, it truly is the English countryside at its finest. Miles and miles of walks head off in every direction or jump in your car and discover more of the area, such as Tarr Steps or the beautiful north coast towns of Porlock and Lynton. For more history head to the Medieval village of Dunster and visit the Castle then jump on the West Somerset Steam Railway and chug along the coast and through the countyside.

You needn’t venture far with glorious countryside walks or cycle routes from the door along with a couple of good local Inns within a short distance from Otters Holt. Wellington was also named in The Times in 2021 as the 3rd best place to live in the Britain, and so is well worth a visit. If you do venture further afield you will be impressed by the abundance of great spots to visit, from the stunning natural beauty of Exmoor National Park to the wonderful Quantock Hills, and if fresh sea air is on your list the stunning North Devon Coast is within an hour’s drive and is ideal for surfing, kite surfing for the more adventurous!
The Jurassic coastline and picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis with its independent shops, restaurants and fossil hunting opportunities is less than 1 hour drive. Further South the beaches and seaside towns of Exmouth, Sidmouth and Teignmouth are all within easy reach.

Inside this large, yet wonderfully laid out home, you have a beautiful entrance way with feature staircase and chandelier, a huge lounge with superb fireplace and woodburning stove, Smart TV and French doors leading to the garden. A second lounge/snug has a Smart TV and is a great space for the kids to have their own fun. The spacious Kitchen has a large Aga for cooking, electric hob, dishwasher and fridge as well as a breakfast area. Off the kitchen is the grand dining room with plenty of seating for everyone. From the kitchen you also have access to the utility room with large fridge/freezer and washing machine. On the ground floor is the downstairs suite complete with double bedroom, lounge and en-suite shower room, the perfect spot for the less mobile or for those who like a bit of their own space. Crickledown is set in the village of High Ham, just 3 miles from Langport. The Somerset levels are easily accessible as are many of Somersets other attractions. The towns of Taunton, Yeovil and Glastonbury are reached in under 30 minutes by car, with the latter being of note for its ancient historical links and of course the Tor which can be seen from Crickledowns windows. National Trust properties abound nearby and a fun day out for the family can be had on the West Somerset Steam Railway which runs from Bishops Lydeard to the seaside town of Minehead.
