Set within the grounds of the owners’ non-working farm, The Cottage offers a sense of exclusivity and privacy, allowing you to immerse yourselves in tranquillity and peace.
As you step into the property, you’ll be charmed by its tasteful decor, with furniture mainly sourced from the renowned OKA collection, creating an ambiance of elegance and comfort. The property is all on one level located on the ground floor. The living room beckons with its snug ambiance, boasting a Smart TV with Sky for your entertainment. We happily welcome two small (or one big), well-behaved dogs to join you on your countryside adventure. Although we kindly ask that your furry friend remains on a lead in the garden, they can freely explore the 5-acres of private woodlands and paddocks which is fully enclosed to roam freely.

Test your skills and push your limits with a range of thrilling activities such as rock climbing, archery, and off-road biking. Within an hour’s drive, you can reach Bristol and Bath. Explore Glastonbury’s Abbey and Tor, Wells’ cathedral and Bishop’s palace, or Cheddar’s famous caves and gorge. All within 30 minutes and promising delightful adventures. Barrowswood, a semi-detached holiday cottage (ref 29842), enjoys commanding views over Cheddar Gorge in the distance. Its large garden adjoins a field with occasional visiting sheep and is the perfect spot in which to relax and unwind. Strawberry Lodge (ref 29841) stands detached at the far end of the grounds of Barrowswood, enjoying woodland surroundings with magnificent views over the field and across to Cheddar Gorge. Blackberry Lodge (ref W44121) is a single-storey, detached lodge, ideal for a romantic retreat for couples. All three properties may be booked together should you have a larger party.
Cheddar village offers plenty of interesting shops and cafes as well as other attractions. Cheddar Gorge, Britain’s largest limestone ravine gouged through the Mendips, is a magnet for climbers, walkers and visitors to the floodlit caves and Cheddar Reservoir is a great place to take a picnic, look out for wildlife and join in activities such as sailing and angling. Axbridge is a charming market town with a medieval square and half-timbered buildings, whilst Wookey Hole attracts many visitors to the showcaves. Wells is England’s smallest city set around a cathedral; Wedmore is a lively town with many individual shops and eateries, Glastonbury is famous for its music festival, spiritual culture and King Arthur legends, and the coastal resorts and magnificent beaches at Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean are all within a short drive, as are the cities of Bath and Bristol. This farmhouse annex property is a great base for exploring the wonderful Somerset countryside, set in the rural village of Weare, just outside the historic market town of Axbridge. It is perfect for families or couples, and the owner lives on-site. On the first floor is the living room with a large viewing window, here you can just sit back, relax and look out onto the breathtaking views over the Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge. Bath is a short drive away with its famous abbey, Roman Baths and Thermae Spa, along with gorgeous Georgian architecture. Step into Christmas (Cottage), this unique maisonette which dates back to the 1800’s has been expertly restored to its former glory. Built into the famous Cheddar Gorge this is one property you will not want to miss.
Entering via a metal side gate up a flight of steep stairs, you arrive to the lower deck, perfect for people watching or enjoying the summer sun. Enter directly into the kitchen/dining area where you are welcomed to a large space for the whole family to enjoy their evening meal or breakfast with views across the River Yeo and park. The kitchen is fitted with double electric oven, gas hob, integrated fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave and is also decorated at christmas with garlands above the top cabinets, festive bunting and fair lights. Stepping through the wooden double doors is where you are greeted to the fanatic theme of Christmas all year, not just in December. The living room comprises of comfy sofa, Smart TV, wood burning stove for those cold winter days (wood burner available for use during winter months only from 1 November to 31 March) and window seats overlooking the river and waterfall.
Upstairs on the second floor there are three bedrooms, each bedroom has its own theme, The ’Robin’ bedroom features a kingsize bed, The ’Woodland Bedrooms’ has a small double and ‘Elf Room’ is a small single bedroom. The family bathroom is fitted with shower cubicle and bath. There is LED lighting including a back lit mirror that creates a soft light for relaxing in the bath. Take the small steps up to the upper deck garden/decking which is four floors above the ground. This is a stunning garden which is not to be missed, built into Cheddar Gorge you have a brilliant 180-degree view across the river, up the gorge and down into the village; this can also be the perfect place to star gaze.
Another awesome feature of the cottage is the location, leave the car and stroll into the village centre where you will be greeted by a myriad of pubs, tea rooms, independent stores and of course the Famous Cheddar Cheese shops! For the more adventurous, walk-through Cheddar Gorge, tackle Jacobs Ladder and explore the fantastic caves. Beach 12 miles.

Welcome to Bridge Cottage, a beautiful riverside haven set in the hamlet of Henley, close to the town of Langport. As the electric gates open you will get a glimpse into the large private garden, as you drive around the corner Bridge Cottage will be waiting for you. Inside, on the ground floor, you enter into the large boot room and hallway, to the right you will find the spacious and welcoming kitchen/dining room, which is extremely well equipped with all you will need to create everything from the simplest meal to a sumptuous feast. The living room has gorgeous, beamed ceilings, comfy sofas to sink into are centered around the wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings after a day exploring. The cinema room has a large corner sofa, 75” Smart TV and sound system, so close the blinds and snuggle up to watch a blockbuster movie!
Upstairs, each bedroom has been lovingly decorated in its own unique style. The master bedroom has fabulous river views, double bed, dressing area, TV and en-suite shower room. Bedroom two has twin beds, TV and river views. The further three bedrooms are all doubles with a TV in each. The main family bathroom has a dual ended bath, separate shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Outside, the large garden is mainly lawned and has a fabulous patio area with comfortable garden furniture, the ideal spot for al fresco dining. To the rear of the garden, you have the games house, with table tennis and dartboard, many hours will be spent here having friendly (or very competitive) tournaments! There is a further chilled summerhouse that has spectacular views along the river and is the ideal space for some relaxed reading or a drink of your favourite tipple!
You have gated access to the River Cary and during the summer you can take rowing boat for a paddle along the river! There are many walks to be enjoyed directly from Bridge Cottage or head over to Langport, park up the car and walk the Parret Trail along the River Parret and enjoy the local shops and restaurants in Langport. For a dose of ancient history, head to Glastonbury with its Medieval Tor and eclectic mix of shops. For the bargain hunters among you, Clarks Village in Street with its designer outlet is a must visit! The beaches of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare are within an easy drive away for a dose of traditional seaside fare!

These attractive holiday properties lie in the peaceful conservation village of Colerne, surrounded by rolling countryside. The Grade II* listed stable conversion (PFFH) is part of the only longhouse in Wiltshire and dating back to the 13th century, is the oldest house in the village. Beautifully refurbished to offer all modern conveniences, yet retains charm and character. Sympathetically converted, the detached, single-storey barn (PHHF) offers light and airy, contemporary accommodation. Colerne has a good selection of shops and pubs but only a short bus journey, 7 miles, will take you into Bath and Chippenham. Old Farm is a stunning Barn conversion in Southwood, just outside of Glastonbury. Converted to an extremely high standard in 2021, it’s the perfect base from which to explore Somerset. Drive past the orchard and enter through the gates into your private driveway where Old Farm awaits you, through the large Oak front door the bright and airy living space opens in front of you to welcome you in. The central open plan living space has beautiful large doors opening to the garden, a wood burner for those cosy evenings and sumptuous furnishings to allow you to relax into whilst watching TV or chilling with a glass of your favourite tipple. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine as well as everything else you will need to whip up a fantastic dinner or just a simple breakfast. There is also a sitting room with large floor to ceiling windows, you can also sleep up to two extra guests on the sofa bed in here. Off the open plan living area you will find the fabulous bedrooms, both have double beds, hairdryers and en-suite bathrooms. Outside you have your private garden, with outdoor seating area and fantastic views across the fields.
There are fabulous walks in all directions that can be taken from the doorstep, whilst the towns of Glastonbury and Street are just under 15 minutes drive away. Glastonbury, famous for its festival and ancient legends, has a great mix of eclectic shops and larger stores whilst Street is well known for its outlet shopping centre, Clarks Village, where designer bargains are to be found! Within an hour’s drive you have a wealth of National Trust properties to explore as well as fun days out at the likes of Longleat and Haynes Motor Museum.
