Set in the village of Kettleburgh, Red Barn Cottage is very close to the beautiful market town of Framlingham. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book, its 12th-century castle still stands, and visitors can walk the curtain wall and enjoy the fantastic views. A great family day out is Easton Farm Park, 2 miles, with plenty of family fun, including animal petting, indoor soft play and many more activities. It is also host to the Maverick Festival, held during early July, for the finest Americana music festival.
The Suffolk Heritage Coast is easily accessible by car, where you can visit Southwold, Aldeburgh and England’s most easterly point, Lowestoft. Suffolk is a walkers and cyclists, paradise with winding roads, chocolate box villages and stunning landscape. Sea and river fishing can be found within 10 miles. Tucked away on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, you are perfectly located to either explore or simply stroll along the beach with your four-legged friend in either the spring, summer or winter. Perfect for dining all together after a day of breathing in the sea air and taking in the beautiful scenery. Kessingland has a real traditional village feel, yet within a short drive, you can enjoy the hustle and bustle at Africa Alive, Lowestoft and the Norfolk Broads National Park, which can all be reached within a 10-minute drive. Further south, Southwold, Walberswick and Aldeburgh all make for a great day out, from crabbing to a traditional Victorian pier. Each deserves a full day to fully appreciate all there is!
