The Nest is a beautiful, self-contained one-bedroom cottage situated next to the main farmhouse. It can sleep up to three adults or two adults with two children. It’s the perfect location for those wishing to explore the local area and is ideal for those interested in walking and wildlife. The living room is a former conservatory with a cosy roof and has underfloor heating to ensure comfort all year round. The living room has a double sofa bed, TV and dining table. You’ll also find a selection of games and toys to keep you entertained, and books and maps to help you whilst exploring the area. The small but perfectly formed kitchen has everything you need, with a full oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge. You’ll find some of the basics such as cooking oil, salt, pepper etc already in the cupboards. The bedroom features a super kingsize bed, reading lights, built-in wardrobes with a full-length mirror and French doors opening up onto the private garden. It’s a bright and airy room, but once you’ve drawn the curtains and dimmed the lights it’s the ideal place to cosy up with a good book. Just off the bedroom is a large shower room, with a walk-in shower, twin vanity units and toilet. The garden has a seating area, with gas BBQ and a chimnea with views out across the farm fields allowing you to listen to the birdsong.
We’ve made sure you don’t need to pack too heavily, with games, toys for the kids, DVDs, books, picnic blanket, flask, Tupperware, children’s cups, plates and cutlery all provided. We can even lend camping chairs, beach shelters and buckets and spades if needed. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten your four-legged friend, there’s bowls, blankets, poo bags and a little treat ready for their arrival too.
Located in the heart of Suffolk Coast’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Nest is the perfect retreat for those wishing to explore the area. Situated discreetly off a private farm track, well away from the busy roads and directly on the Sandlings Walk, it’s ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. The Nest is just 1½ miles from Aldeburgh town, which has an array of pubs, cafés, shops and plenty of other facilities. The nearest pubs are in Knodishall and Aldringham, only a 5-minute drive away or can be reached via country footpaths.
Popular places such as Thorpeness, Southwold, Minsmere Nature Reserve, Orford, Woodbridge and Framlingham are all within a 35-minute drive. One (two smaller dogs considered), well-behaved dog is permitted during your stay. Dogs must be kept under control at all times and be cleaned up after. Please note there are other resident dogs and horses on site. The garden is enclosed but is not fully escape proof! Beach 2 miles. Pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.

The area is great for exploring the delights of Norfolk and Suffolk, with its Heritage Coast, including Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold. All within easy driving distance. Quality fixtures and fittings and have been used in comprising a two-bedroom property that benefits from a modern kitchen and bathroom, together with comfortable living accommodation for three people. Please note that to get to the main bedroom you do need to walk through the second bedroom/landing space. Just 4 miles away is the pretty town of Beccles, made up of small market squares and winding streets, nestled by the River Waveney, gateway to the Broads. Enjoy a river trip, hire a day boat, or canoe to explore the miles of waterways at your own pace. Fishing available along riverbank, and enjoy the wonderful walks that follow the beautiful southern waterway. There are plenty of quirky independent shops, restaurants and cafés, along with festivals and entertainment held throughout the year. Remember to bring your swims and visit the open air Lido swimming pool (booking is recommended). Visit nearby Lowestoft for sandy beaches and seaside amusements, or head to Southwold for a traditional seaside resort, just 16 minutes’ drive away. The cottage, located in a conservation area, is set a short distance off the high street down a quiet lane. Both countryside and the Suffolk coastline are within easy reach. Renovated in 2022 to offer an excellent standard of comfort and equipment. Inside, you will find a few beams, along with a wood burner in the living room to snuggle beside on cooler evenings, or play some of the board games. The kitchen is well equipped to dine at home, and for any foodies looking to dine out, the local area is plentiful with many good eateries. To the rear is a lovely, enclosed lawn garden and further seating secretly tucked away with a lovely view across the beautiful countryside, with the River Deben flowing nearby. Just a stroll from the cottage is a play barn and cafe that families with children under 7 can enjoy. The play area behind the village hall has a skate park, and non members can book a session on the courts at the tennis club. A short drive away is horse riding for all ages and abilities together with their café.

The cottage is a short distance down a quiet lane where horses can often be seen wandering by, and is within walking distance of the high street which is well served with a supermarket, newsagent, hairdressers, beauticians, vet and restaurants. You will also find dog friendly cafes where you can eat inside, outside or take away. They offer ready meals, soups and Friday night stone baked Italian pizza to order for take away. You can walk from the doorstep across the water meadows to the 14th-century inn located in the next village.

The surrounding countryside in the Deben Valley is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with picturesque countryside. Woodbridge is a bustling market town with a range of independent shops, fine dining pubs, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a swimming pool, independent cinema, sailing and glorious walks along the River Deben. The train station is in neighbouring Campsea Ashe with rail links to London, the coast and the Broads.
