Set in the village of Kettleburgh, Red Barn Cottage is very close to the beautiful market town of Framlingham. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book, its 12th-century castle still stands, and visitors can walk the curtain wall and enjoy the fantastic views. A great family day out is Easton Farm Park, 2 miles, with plenty of family fun, including animal petting, indoor soft play and many more activities. It is also host to the Maverick Festival, held during early July, for the finest Americana music festival.
The Suffolk Heritage Coast is easily accessible by car, where you can visit Southwold, Aldeburgh and England’s most easterly point, Lowestoft. Suffolk is a walkers and cyclists, paradise with winding roads, chocolate box villages and stunning landscape. Sea and river fishing can be found within 10 miles. The vibrant market towns of Bungay and Beccles boast independent boutiques and chain shops and the weekly market is excellent for all things local. At Beccles there is an open air heated outdoor swimming pool, popular with many local swimmers and gateway to the famous Norfolk Broads National Park.
