Harlequin House is a beautifully presented bungalow, benefitting from spectacular views over the Holme Valley countryside. Perfect for those extra special luxury breaks away, quite wonderfully you will find a four poster bed in one of the bedrooms. The living room boasts the most amazing picture window to really make the most of those stunning views. The separate annexe is ideal for anyone wanting a bit of extra privacy. Accessed externally, here you will find a further en-suite double bedroom and study bed in the living area (which can be converted into a desk) and an additional shower cubicle. Outside you will find an enclosed garden complete with hot tub meaning you can truly relax and enjoy. For those with four legged friends the garden also provides direct access to Crow Wood conservation area, and then to finish there’s also the opportunity to make use of the friendly owners swimming pool and sauna, located just 7 miles away.
Harlequin House occupies a semi rural setting just over half a mile from the very centre of bustling Holmfirth where you will find an abundance of shops, cafés, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs. Quite uniquely, Holmfirth is also home to its very own vineyard and an intimate venue for live music and events, the Picturedrome. Widely recognised as the back drop for the record breaking BBC comedy Last of the Summer Wine, you can take a tour around the variety of film locations, and being located on the edge of the fabulous Peak District National Park means there are endless outdoor opportunities for walkers. Keen cyclists will relish the chance to recreate the 2015 Tour de Yorkshire at Holme Moss, and if you can bear to tear yourself away from the area there’s the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Cannon Hall Farm around 30 minutes away and the cities of both Manchester and Leeds in around an hour. A spacious and detached cottage, set out over one level, it is surrounded by beautiful wild gardens which extend into woodland thereby offering privacy and seclusion. Set in the Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park the surrounding magnificent countryside is most familiar as the back drop to the great British sitcom ’Last of the Summer Wine’. It is perfect for walking and cycling, with keen cyclists able to recreate routes used in the Tour de Yorkshire. A 10-minute walk down hill will take you to vibrant Holmfirth, home to shops, bars, cafés and restaurants in abundance, however a word to the wise, the roads back including the driveway to the cottage are steep and not for the faint hearted. Digley Reservoir and Holmfirth Vineyard are both around a 10-minute drive from the property and further afield you’ll find attractions for all interests within easy reach. These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

If walking is your thing, Penistone Hill and the surrounding countryside are stunning walks in all seasons, winter being our favourite! Travelling further afield you will also find St. Ives Estate, Bingley, Altar Rock, Five Rise Locks, Cliffe Castle, Harlow Carr at Harrogate, East Riddlesden Hall, and on our very own doorstep The keighley & Worth Valley Railway, and the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Unique, beautiful, secluded and recently updated accommodation situated in stunning countryside as a peaceful oasis near to Cannon Hall Farm and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Located in a converted 17th-century church on a hill in the heart of Yorkshire, this beautiful, well-equipped apartment offers perfect sanctuary.

A unique self-contained studio apartment with its own entrance with a kitchen offering everything you should need for the duration of your stay to cook your favourite meal. In the bathroom you will find a spa bath with salts, bubbles, and other things to make your stay comfortable. There is also a recently installed full shower over the bath. The apartment has one comfortable king size bed, a single bed with pull out underneath, a breakfast bar for dining and a selection of furniture including a small settee and two old Parker Knoll chairs, along with a Smart TV. It features a one-of-a-kind, beautiful William Morris stained glass window of The Ascension.

The owners of the property offer a unique experience where they will happily give you a tour of the tower (once one of the original Beacons) and tell you the story and interesting history of the church. There are significant landmarks locally in the region from Cannon Hall Farm; Emley Tower, Wentworth Woodhouse, the National Coal Mining Museum, and the home of Emily Bronte, to Art Exhibitions, ski slope, local festivals, Cawthorne (an historic village), well-manicured gardens and countryside walks, to name a few. In under an hour, you can be in Harrogate, York, Chatsworth, or Sheffield. Beneath the quiet exterior of country living beats a heart of choral tradition, cycling and rambling for nature lovers, coffee shops and fascinating places to visit.
