To offer guests maximum comfort the four bedrooms comprise three with kingsize beds and one with single bunk beds. Bedding is of high quality with 5* hotel style duvets and 180 thread count sheets for a relaxing night’s sleep. Two of the bedrooms offer direct access out to the garden and patio area. The open plan living/dining room is very spacious and benefits from vaulted ceilings. In the living area, with industrial style décor, the large double height window and patio door offers unique views and access into the garden. With the benefit of a wood burner, whether it be day or night, summer or winter, everyone can come together and enjoy quality time. The dining area has table seating for eight guests. To the rear of the bungalow the large conservatory has underfloor heating, deep-filled, comfy sofas and a 42" Smart TV which provides an additional space for relaxation. This room enjoys views over th garden, hot tub and countryside beyond.

A gentle stroll will bring you to the local village pub where you can mix with the locals whilst enjoying a relaxing drink. A little further afield is the historic walled City of York which offers over two thousand years of history and the cathedral town of Selby. The stunning East Riding coastline is also just under an hour’s drive away. Tamarisk is the perfect holiday home for your family gathering and will be perfect no matter what the time of year.

Carr House farmhouse is set on a working farm, but only minutes away from the attractions of Scarborough and only 1½ miles from the well known surfing beach at Cayton Bay, which also welcomes dog walkers throughout the year. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the large landscaped gardens with a summerhouse, apple trees and barbecue, with a perimeter fence making it ideal for both children and pets. This detached farmhouse is ideal for touring the North Yorkshire coast, from Whitby in the north to Bridlington in the south. A short journey inland takes you to the North York Moors, ’Heartbeat’ Country and Pickering for the steam railway, whilst York for its historic attractions is less than an hour away.

For activities nearby there is Dalby Forest for cycling and tree climbing, Wykeham Lakes for fishing, or the many beaches which offer the chance to just relax, sail, surf, sunbathe, paddle, and build sandcastles. Scarborough is a vibrant seaside resort with lots of family attractions, such as the waterpark, Sealife Centre and crazy golf, as well as a funfair, ice-cream parlours, amusements, and donkey rides. The Yorkshire Coast is just a short drive away and the cottage is a great base for visiting the resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Whitby as well as the smaller villages of Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes or the waterfall at the Hayburn Wyke cove. Just 3 miles away, Pickering is a traditional market town with a local market held every Monday which is very popular with both the locals and tourists alike. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafés plus some interesting independent shops. Pickering is home to the North York Moors steam railway. Here you can catch a steam train for an amazing journey across the North York Moors National Park to the town of Whitby. Flamingo Land, a popular theme park, is close to Pickering with its exciting rides and fantastic zoo, sure to make a great day out with the children. Scarborough is on the east coast and is a very popular seaside town great for families with its large sweeping bays. Bedroom two offers two single beds which can zip and link to make a super kingsize bed on request, as well as windows at both aspects of the room bringing in the surrounding views. Bedroom two has a TV for your entertainment. A separate bathroom is provided with bath with overhead electric shower.

To the side of the cottage is a lovely enclosed courtyard garden with furniture, ideal for al fresco dining with a glass of wine in the evening. There is the added benefit of a private driveway and space for two cars, with extended parking available on request. Being animal lovers, the owners, who live on-site, are happy to accept up to two well behaved dogs. There is also stabling available on site by private arrangement.

A short walk from the cottage, brings you to the charming hamlet of Ovington and a lovely traditional pub serving home-cooked food and local ales. With so many opportunities to explore whether by car or on foot, the stunning North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are both within easy reach. A short drive away is the market town of Barnard Castle with its bustling high street full of quaint shops, pubs and cafés, as well as the impressive Bowes Museum. Alternatively, the historic Yorkshire market town of Richmond is great for strolling along the cobbled streets and castle walls. Stroll through the colourful ornamental gardens of Peasholm Park on the North Bay, or South Cliff Gardens above the historic Spa complex, visit the Rotunda Museum or have fun on the amusements. Culture lovers will be impressed by the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, which features excellent productions, or the large, open-air theatre which hosts many well-known bands.
