The properties’ courtyards lead out to public footpaths from which you can explore thousands of acres of the surrounding countryside. Long Barn Cottages are situated on a stud farm. You also have access to the owner’s grounds which house a decked pond area and beautiful summerhouse, great for those balmy summer evenings.
Nearby is the village of Royal Wootton Bassett, the historic market town of Marlborough, Amesbury and Avebury Henge, all just a short drive away. There are plenty of National Trust sites close by including Stonehenge with its mystical stones, as well as Stourhead and the village of Lacock. There are great shopping opportunities at the Swindon Designer Outlet, or the World Heritage city of Bath is under an hour’s drive away. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

The main living area is on the first floor and the majority of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor.
This detached cottage, located on the doorstep of the Cotswolds, provides an excellent base from which to explore many attractions within a short drive such as Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, the Roman city of Bath and the ancient stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury.
There is so much on offer in and around the surrounding area of Ashdene including Roves Farm, a great place for children and adults alike, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Longleat House and Safari Park, Cotswolds Wildlife Park and Oasis Leisure Centre. If it’s shopping you’re after, you’re very close to the Swindon designer shopping outlet. Caroline Cottage is a duplex annexe set within the owners’ grounds, surrounded by glorious countryside. Caroline Cottage offers a luxury get away and is the ideal base for exploring the area. Surrounded by quiet country lanes and glorious open countryside it is perfect for walking, cycling, bird watching or even just relaxing.
Attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk through the door of the Cottage from its well-equipped kitchen/diner, a four-poster bed and the large living room with projector screen and Sky TV. From the living area there are patio doors which open giving you access to the garden, seating, and BBQ. If you can tear yourself away from Caroline Cottage, the surrounding area is just as spectacular. Just 200 yards away is Shearwater Lake, a lovely walk to enjoy with your furry friend, the lake is open all year round, there are miles of woodland surrounding the lake if you wish to extend your walk.
Stop and have a drink at the local café while looking over the beautiful lake, the café is also pet friendly. This fabulous area has many local attractions with Longleat just 5 miles away, take a visit to Heaven’s Gate where you can see the views of the Longleat Estate. Conveniently located to explore Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Stourhead and many other local attractions.

Set in 17 acres of private fields and woodland, The Horse Cart has been beautifully restored by the owner to provide a staycation for guests with stunning views over the vale towards the Cotswolds and Wiltshire.
