From April to September there are daily ferries and boat trips leaving from the harbour that take you to the Isle of May National Nature Reserve, home to colonies of sea birds including puffins, and the surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies. If you are interested in the history of the area the Scottish Fisheries Museum at the harbour side is well worth a visit.

The property dates back to 1877, and the street is named after Captain Rodger, owner of the clipper ship, Taeping. The East Neuk of Fife has a long seafaring history and the Fisheries Museum tells the story of the area.

Just a short stroll from Arc House you can explore the old wynds and lanes leading down to the seafront in the picturesque fishing village of Cellardyke, with a sandy beach and old harbour. There is a water sports centre with sea kayaking and open canoeing available for you to explore the shore line with expert tuition. There are also several local courses within a short driving distance from Arc House. However you spend your time, Arc House is an ideal holiday home in which to relax and unwind. This charming, bijou, terraced cottage with a red pantile roof, dating back to 1780 when it was a weavers cottage, is located in the centre of the historic picturesque village of Ceres. There are excellent cycling and footpaths from the cottage door and the Fife Folk Museum is across the road, as well as the village green. Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth are all within an hour’s drive. When you return to the cottage after exploring the area, you can sit back with a glass of wine in front of the cosy fire.
