A tour of the farm to see the livestock can be arranged directly with the owner.
Each property benefits from a wood burner or electric coal-effect fire, perfect for keeping cosy in the winter months. To the front of the properties is a shared lawned area where guests are welcome to enjoy picnics.
Cider Press Barn (ref UK12379) offers three bedrooms, two double, one with an en-suite shower room, and a further single. To the rear of the property is a private, enclosed courtyard garden with a built in barbecue, great for al fresco dining. The courtyard itself is a sun trap and is perfect for relaxing in the evenings.
Lambing Shed (ref UK12380) is a characterful property, though what really stands out is the attention and thought that has gone into the kitchen and living space, encouraging families to spend time together. The wood burner is surrounded by an outstanding open brick wall, providing a rustic appeal. From the kitchen window you have a great view across the farm courtyard and over the fields. Off the living room is a double bedroom with en-suite facilities, and further down the hallways is a twin bedroom and a shower room.
In the Forest of Dean itself, there are many picnic sites, pathways and cycle tracks to be found. Outdoor activities are plentiful with riding and canoeing available in the local area and the cathedral city of Gloucester is within easy driving distance. This fabulous barn conversion which has been renovated over 2019/2020 is an ideal place for friends or larger families. Set in Bream, the property is a great base for exploring the Forest of Dean.
The property consists of open plan kitchen/dining area with breakfast island and all the appliances you could need. It makes a cosy home from home with some lovely exposed beams. The dining area has patio doors looking out onto the rolling countryside. The living room has exposed stone walls, a lovely wood burner and a Smart TV, great for those cooler evenings. There are many attractions in this area including miles of very scenic footpaths. The Forest of Dean also has fantastic cycle tracks for the family or for the serious mountain biker. Also close by are local attractions such as Beechenhurst, Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves and Norchard Steam Railway. There are places of historic interest too such as Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle, and the market towns of Monmouth, Coleford and Ross on Wye. Rivendell is a detached bungalow with incredible views over the Severn Estuary. The property consists of a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, and an open plan living/dining area with Freeview TV, and a cosy open fire. There is also a family bathroom and three bedrooms, comprising a single bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a master double bedroom. Outside you will find an enclosed garden with a lawn, flower beds, seating areas, and a summerhouse. Access to a lower lawn with an orchard is down steps or a sloping grass path. A handrail is provided for use as necessary.
Walks can be had directly from the garden out into the forest. The Forest of Dean is bordered by the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the River Severn. In this compact area, there are outdoor activities in abundance including horse riding, golf, fishing, mountain biking trails from easy to extreme, canoeing, kayaking, and rock climbing. There are numerous fun places to visit with attractions such as Go Ape, Puzzlewood, Mountain Biking routes from Easy to Extreme at Pedal-Bike-Away, and a separate Family Trail, The Wye Valley for Water Sports and Rock Climbing, Clearwell Caves, and the Beechenhurst Sculpture Trail. All about 10-20 minutes away. Chepstow and Goodrich Castles and Tintern Abbey are interesting historical sites for all ages. Blakeney village is just a few minutes away by car and walkable in about 10 minutes. Amenities include a post office/newsagents, general store, pub, fish and chip shop, church, bus stop, and surgery.
The cathedral city of Gloucester, Monmouth, Chepstow, and the pretty market town on Ross-on-Wye are all within a short drive. Regency Cheltenham and The Cotswolds, The Malvern Hills, The Cathedral City of Hereford (with the famous Mappa Mundi), and The Black Mountains of Wales are also all just an easy day’s drive away.
