Perfect for couples or friends the cottage has been sympathetically renovated recently with a vintage style theme. You will find a good sized sitting room with kitchen off the rear, spiral staircase to the second floor and two great sized bedrooms.
Village life revolves around the old church, quaint public inns, and the village shop, which provides for guests’ daily needs such as fresh bread and local produce. The truly amazing thing about this cottage is the setting. The Forest of Dean offers plenty for the adventurous from mountain biking, zip wires, kayaking and horse riding etc. There is an abundance of cycle tracks and valley walks where you may even encounter the native wild boar. Alternatively; just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity in this little rural retreat.

Wayside is a traditional Wool Workers’ cottage in the centre of the charming Cotswold village of Painswick. This 17th-century cottage retains a host of original features as well as all the necessities of modern life having been recently fully renovated by the owners. Wayside overlooks St Mary’s famous churchyard with its 99-yew trees, a gorgeous place to sit and watch the world go by.
Painswick is on the Cotswold Way and there are lots of great walks right from the doorstep, not least to Painswick Beacon, where on a clear day you can see right across to the Malverns and Brecon Beacons. There is a leisure centre and town museum as well as great walks around the surrounding valleys and villages. No trip to the area is complete without a visit to The Woolpack in Slad and to Stroud Brewery along the canal. Slightly further afield, wander the 250-acre Robinswood Hill Country Park, a lovely hilltop country park where you may see some of the resident foxes and badgers. Enjoy a day in the city of Gloucester, home to the medieval Gloucester Cathedral and the fascinating Museum of Gloucester, which houses exhibitions ranging from prehistoric times to the present. Gloucester is home to a wealth of pubs, restaurants, and other eateries, as well as a fabulous quay to stroll along to take in the character of the city. Cheltenham is 8 miles distant, where there are more fabulous restaurants and great shopping. Bath and Bristol are both an hour’s drive away.
Heading in the opposite direction, animal lovers will be pleased to discover Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, the home of over 260 animals to get up close and personal with. Walkers, cyclists, and explorers alike will not be left short of activities, being located in the heart of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here you will find an abundance of breathtaking scenery and routes to discover, along with plenty of quaint villages and towns bursting with cultural and historical significance.

Kilcot Coach house is entered through the utility room, which is fitted with a washer/dryer. You then enter the spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with everything a guest could need. There is a hard floor throughout and the exposed brick walls really create ambience and character and you can still envisage the property as it once was. Upstairs there are two large double rooms, both fitted with en-suite shower rooms. Outside the property is a small patio area for guests to sit out and enjoy an evening drink, barbecue or morning coffee. An ideal property for couples to get away and enjoy the local area.
In a rural location, amidst the rolling uplands of the south Cotswolds and within a 20-mile radius, you can visit stunning Georgian Bath with Thermae Spa and Bath Abbey. Bristol with the SS Great Britain, We The Curious, Bristol suspension bridge, or travel to Gloucester and visit the Cathedral, The Quays for shopping, Bowood House in Chippenham and Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust. Visit the historic town of Tetbury, the market town of Wotton-under-Edge, or the farmers market in Stroud, Westonbirt arboretum, Dyrham Park and for fans of Poldark, you can visit Chavenage House and Horton Court. You can access the river within a few steps from the front of the property and discover the bridges that link you to all the attractions.
The cottage itself is perfect for visitors staying for a week or just a few days with a spacious living room at the front, a fully equipped kitchen in the centre and a dining room at the back with access to the enclosed garden where you can enjoy the evening sun with a glass of something chilled after a day exploring. Upstairs you are greeted by two bedrooms with kingsize beds, one of which has a shower room en-uite, and a third with a single or twin beds and a family bathroom. The owners have made Chapel House a wonderful holiday home and you’ll certainly have a very pleasant stay here with your family, friends and fellow holidaymakers.
The village centre just a short walk away, is full of attractions and local amenities including Birdland, a model village, a model railway, the Cotswold Motoring Museum, the Cotswold Distillery, Bourton Lakes Fishery, a perfumery workshop, pottery, and children’s indoor play barn with so many wonderful attractions in the area. The village is also known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the shallow River Windrush which runs through the centre and hosts an annual ‘football in the river’ game which is great fun to watch although expect to get wet!
The Cotswolds is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it won’t take you long to see why, with honey-coloured cottages and meandering lanes, it’s simply stunning!
