Ideally located for year round holidays and a perfect cosy winter retreat with its wood burner, Enlli is just a short stroll to Llanuwchllyn railway station, home of the Bala Lake railway which offers a scenic journey along the shores of the lake to the lovely town of Bala 5 miles away. Here you will find a fine selection of restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops as well as a leisure centre with a swimming pool.

Snowdonia’s exhilarating outdoor activities and myriad of family attractions including castles, zip wires and narrow gauge railways are all within easy reach. As well as the breathtaking beauty of lake and mountains, the area also offers exciting white-water rafting, golf, cycling, excellent walking and the fabulous sandy beaches of the Cardigan Bay coast, just 23 miles away at Barmouth.

Jack’s House in the coastal town of Tywyn is perfect for any time of year, with a patio with seating and a barbecue for the warmer evenings. The kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences including a coffee machine and an American-style fridge/freezer, and with seven bedrooms in total, three with en-suite facilities, and a further bathroom and a shower room, all with their own walk-in shower.
Local pubs, restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance of the house along with The Magic Lantern Cinema which is well worth a visit. Why not take the Wales Coast Path north, over the Dysynni river and towards the ruins of the old army camp in Tonfannau. A short drive east along the winding Bro Dysynni Valley will take you to the imposing and majestic Craig yr Aderyn (Bird Rock) and the silence and tranquility of Castell y Bere castle. Or you can take the Talyllyn Railway steam train from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn, and explore the many paths and ridges of this quiet, spectacular corner of Wales.If you don’t want to travel by car or public transport, it’s possible to walk to nearby Aberdyfi along the sandy beach. You will find a bustling, chocolate-box pretty harbour village. Also within easy walking distance is Ynysmaengwyn park and woodland, the site of a ruined mansion. Jack’s House is also only 30 miles from Snowdonia National Park.

A short drive is Porthdinllaen beach home to a popular beach side inn, once voted in the top ten best beach bars in the world! You are also within easy reach of Porthmadog home to the Welsh Highland Railway, and Italianate village of Portmeirion, fashionable Abersoch is also nearby. Criccieth and Harlech, a short drive away where you’ll find the historic castles of the area. This area has miles of unspoilt coastal paths to explore, look out for the grey seal colonies that are established around the coastline, alongside a wealth of sea birds. No matter your interests from golfing, fishing and adventure sports to nature and history, the diverse Llyn Peninsula has everything to offer. Aberdaron has two pubs serving great meals, one with a terrace directly overlooking the beach, two tea rooms, a fish bar, an ice cream parlour selling award-winning ice cream and an excellent bakery with a tea room upstairs. The Spar has a post office counter and the Eleri Stores sells fishing tackle, frozen bait, newspapers, lottery tickets and freshly cooked takeaway pizza. The National Trust interactive visitor centre in Aberdaron promotes the many attractions of the Llyn Peninsula. The ancient church of St Hywyn’s in Aberdaron was the last stopping off point for pilgrims to Bardsey Island. There is so much to see and do within 200 yards of Bodarfor! Uwchmynydd is a heath covered headland above the village and is and home to a variety of rare plants and birds - an ideal spot from where to catch sight of elusive Bardsey Island which is invisible from the village or the Peninsula.
