This comfortable, detached cottage is set in a secluded location on the smallholding of Erw Goed, which sits peacefully within the Snowdonia National Park. Situated between the beautiful Mawddach Estuary and the foothills of Cadair Idris, just 3 miles from lovely sandy beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth. The property is accessed by crossing some uneven ground and via a small footbridge over a stream. Guests have sole use of the ½-acre fenced garden with stream running through, there is a camp fire site available for outdoor cooking or camp fires, and guests are also welcome to explore Erw Goed’s 30 acres of gardens and unspoilt woodland and hill with spectacular views over the estuary. You can also meet the livestock including ducks, chickens, bees and sometimes pigs. The Mawddach Trail is easily accessible and the market town of Dolgellau is 6 miles away. Walking, pony trekking, fishing and golf are available locally. Coed-y-Brenin, 10 miles, is a renowned mountain biking centre. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Ty Hir is located close to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary with its coastal trail and cycle path. There is direct access from the farm leading down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach, great for families with small children or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth. If you wish you can just relax, enjoy a spot of fishing nearby, or for the more energetic you can enjoy family walks in the idyllic scenery, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Snowdonia National Park. The family-run pony trekking and equestrian centre on-site is just on the north side of the farm, away from our holiday cottages with menage Hire (arena), riders or complete beginners are catered for. Hen Ysgubor is a ground floor apartment situated below Ysgubor Uchaf which is the first floor apartment. They overlook the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, just off the coastal road to Fairbourne. Both properties are close for the beautiful Mawddach Estuary footpath and coastal trail/cycle path and direct access from the farm leads down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth.

Room temperatures can be individually adjusted to your personal preference. The spectacular tunnel woodburner in the living/dining room gives a cosy glow on cold nights. The kitchen is fully equipped and benefits from woodland views through picture windows and a westerly facing patio to enjoy the evening sun.

As you step out of your front door, you are greeted by the splendour of the Hafod Ruffydd waterfall with spectacular views of the nearby mountains. Miles of forest walks through stunning scenery await you. Picturesque Beddgelert village is nearby and the challenging routes up Snowdon a walk away. The Welsh Highland Railway meanders through the forest and the occasional whistles of the stream trains are always a joy to hear.
After a day exploring the local countryside and attractions, what better than to come back to the comfort in your own forest haven. On clear nights the stars seem to shine even brighter in the ink black sky and you will fall asleep to the gentle sound of the river passing by or the hoot of the owls in the forest. Bring your bucket and spade as the glorious sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn is just a mile down the road and offers superb views over to the Rhinog Mountains. For the more adventurous, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are a thrill seekers delight, whilst the famous Ffestiniog Railway and mighty Harlech Castle are also well worth a visit. From Barmouth, why not hire a bike and cycle across Barmouth Bridge and along the Mawddach Trail to Penmaenpool and Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shops 300 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

Situated in the southern reaches of Snowdonia National Park, this charming, semi-detached cottage has been lovingly restored to provide spacious yet cosy holiday accommodation. Perfect for year round holidays and breaks, it is peacefully situated just a short stroll from the village inn and Rhydyronen station on the lovely Tanyllyn railway line. Just 2 miles away is Tywyn, with a good selection of shops, cafés and a lovely sandy beach, and fashionable and lively Aberdovey is just a little further round the coast. This is a superb location for enjoying lovely walks and cycling, with an abundance of wildlife and wonderful waterfalls to spot and enjoy. To the north of the village is Barmouth, start of the Mawddach Trail, which passes over Barmouth Bridge and follows the track bed of the old railway line along the Mawddach Estuary to Dolgellau.
