Outside you’ll find a covered terrace area with seating a great area to take in the peaceful surroundings, not forgetting the private wood fired Hot Tub perfect no matter the weather.
Surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the Snowdonia National Park, this makes a great base from which to explore the area. The historic town of Bala is just over 2 miles distance and has a wide range of cafés and eateries and welcoming pubs, a leisure centre with swimming pool and sports hall. There are water sports both on the lake and close by at the White-Water Rafting Centre, as well as a golf course. The area is a mecca for bike enthusiasts with an abundance of trails to explore. Also within easy reach are the sandy beaches of the Cardigan Bay Coast, just 23 miles away at Barmouth.

You’ll be greeted by a spacious four bedroom house that has been fully refurbished to an excellent standard. There’s a large kitchen/dining area with a warming wood burner, an ideal spot to chat about the day and rustle up a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. A living area with cosy sofa seating to relax any weary legs from all the fabulous walking routes this area has to offer. Situated in the quiet village of Garndolbenmaen in the Snowdonia National Park, this cottage is near to one of the new UNESCO World Heritage sites for Wales Slate - ’Gorseddau and Prince of Wales Slate Quarries, Railways and Mill’. This is a perfect central location for Porthmadog home to the Welsh Highland Steam Railway, Cricieth perfect for spotting porpoises in the bay, and Harlech home to another World Heritage Site Harlech Castle, the Llyn Peninsula and the Snowdonia mountains and passes are all within easy reach. Further down the coast you’ll find Criccieth and Harlech, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway. In fact, on a clear day you can see the ferries leaving the port of Holyhead on their journey across the Irish sea to Dublin!

Gloriously located above the fishing village of Aberdaron at the western tip of the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula, this fabulous, bright and spacious semi-detached bungalow boasts modern interiors and a blissful hot tub. It is just a short stroll away from a lovely sandy beach and a fine selection of cafés, restaurants and shops.
Within the village is Porth y Swnt, the National Trust’s interpretation centre, which is a great place to learn about the area’s rich history, culture and environment, and is really useful for getting great ideas for days out during your stay.
The Wales Coastal Path runs close by and with many beautiful walks starting from the village, Benlli is in a wonderful location for both traditional family seaside holidays and those seeking a more active break.
The lively resort of Pwllheli with many amenities is a short drive away and the Snowdonia National Park, with its wealth of exhilarating outdoor pursuits and family attractions, is also within easy reach. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Ymwlch Barns are a charming complex of barn conversions situated in a quiet hamlet offering beautiful mountain views and country walks. The Dutch barns (UK12872 and UK12873) are superb, semi-detached barn conversions each offering modern open plan living with a luxurious touch and lovely private hot tubs in enclosed courtyards (towels not provided). They each have a kingsize bedroom and a twin room, making them ideal for small families or couples. Kris Kin (ref OXU) is a charming detached barn conversion with oak beams, wooden floor, well-equipped kitchen and an en-suite bathroom. This property also has its own hot tub.

The surroundings are alive with snowdrops in winter and bluebells in spring. The complex is a short drive away from the beach and castle at Criccieth, and a lovely selection of restaurants, cafes, shops and pubs. Situated on the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula, the area is perfect for walking and cycling with an abundance of lovely footpaths and peaceful country lanes. Just under 5 miles away is the lovely town of Porthmadog, with its pretty harbour and the start of fabulous narrow gauge steam train rides on the world famous Ffestiniog railway, which takes you deep into the heart of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. This lovely, detached farmhouse sits in rolling countryside within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park just outside the little hamlet of Rhyduchaf and is two miles from the historic market town of Bala. The farmhouse offers four good sized bedrooms and there is plenty of space to relax. There is a pleasant yard where guests can relax with a glass of wine or it makes a great place to dine al fresco.
Bala offers a choice of places to eat out with plenty of cafés and eateries for you to choose from. You can walk straight from the door or hop in the car to explore the area. The National White Water Centre is close by, where you can experience the thrill of rafting or canyoning, whilst more sedate activities may be found on the shores of Bala Lake which is close by. Take a trip on a steam train on the narrow gauge railway along the lake shore between Bala and Llanuwchllyn, have a day at the beach over on the coast at Barmouth, or try some Welsh foodie delights at the award-winning Rhug Estate Organic Farm Shop at Corwen. Further afield in Blaenau Ffestiniog is the incredible Bounce Below where the whole family can try bouncing on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern, and Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world where you can fly high over the quarries whilst enjoying the spectacular view as you try not to scream! This well-presented and very comfortable detached property, offers exceptionally spacious accommodation, perfect for large family gatherings, whatever the season. It boasts a lovely enclosed courtyard with its own private hot tub for six guests - a delightful place to relax and enjoy the lovely views across the adjoining Abersoch golf course towards the sea. Within a short walk is the charming and fashionable seaside resort of Abersoch, which is situated between two glorious bays, and is one of the most popular sailing venues in north Wales with important sailing regattas held there throughout the summer months. It also has a fine selection of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Water sports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Hell’s Mouth. There are three main beaches to choose from, the long sandy Warren beach, small and sheltered Porth Bach and sandy Porth Ceriad with its high cliffs. Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore. Beach ½ mile. Ty Hir is located close to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary with its coastal trail and cycle path. There is direct access from the farm leading down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach, great for families with small children or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth. If you wish you can just relax, enjoy a spot of fishing nearby, or for the more energetic you can enjoy family walks in the idyllic scenery, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Snowdonia National Park. The family-run pony trekking and equestrian centre on-site is just on the north side of the farm, away from our holiday cottages with menage Hire (arena), riders or complete beginners are catered for.
