Children will love exploring the sea caves and rock pools, or for the more adventurous, windsurfing and kayaking can also be found in the area.
For history buffs, Caernarfon Castle is worth a visit and is set on the banks of the River Seiont, whilst Harlech Castle is situated on a rocky crag overlooking sand dunes far below. The highest peak in Wales, Mount Snowdon, is a must for outdoor enthusiasts, and there is also the Snowdon Mountain Railway which will take you to the top. For seaside fun, visit the bustling market town of Pwllheli, with its beach, art galleries, sailing and watersports centre, and coastal cruises out to see wildlife such as seals, sea birds and dolphins. Ideally located for year round holidays and a perfect cosy winter retreat with its wood burner, Enlli is just a short stroll to Llanuwchllyn railway station, home of the Bala Lake railway which offers a scenic journey along the shores of the lake to the lovely town of Bala 5 miles away. Snowdonia’s exhilarating outdoor activities and myriad of family attractions including castles, zip wires and narrow gauge railways are all within easy reach. As well as the breathtaking beauty of lake and mountains, the area also offers exciting white-water rafting, golf, cycling, excellent walking and the fabulous sandy beaches of the Cardigan Bay coast, just 23 miles away at Barmouth.

There are lots to do in the area with Criccieth’s 13th century castle on your doorstep, boats and golf course, plus the other popular attractions of the Lleyn Peninsula, it makes an ideal holiday base. Take a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway up into the Snowdonia hills, or visit the famous Italianate fantasy village of Portmeirion. See Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, Beddgelert on the picturesque Aber Glaslyn or the old castles of Conway, Caernarvon and Harlech. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
