Offering uninterrupted panoramic views over the spectacular Bronte countryside, Mia Cottage can be found within the grounds of the owner’s home, nestled high above the village of Stanbury. The mid terraced cottage, which is accessed via a farm track (unsuitable for low vehicles), is full of charm with thoughtful touches such as underfloor heating on the ground floor and a floor to ceiling window in the living area providing superb long distance views over the truly rural setting. Guests are also provided with dressing gowns and towels for the private hot tub which is situated to the front of the property - the perfect place for relaxing and taking in the surrounding environment.
For those wanting to explore the local area by foot, many walks can be embarked upon straight from the door such as Top Withens and Bronte waterfalls. In addition, Britain’s greatest long distance walking trail, The Pennine Way, runs adjacent to the farm. The village of Stanbury is just a short walk from the cottage and has a number of pubs serving local food, and wonderful Haworth village, home of the famous Bronte Sisters is just a 5 minute drive.
Slightly further afield the vibrant town of Hebden Bridge, which can be reached in around 20 minutes, has plenty of independent shops and cafés. The bustling market town of Skipton is around a 30-minute drive, and provides the gateway to the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park. For National Trust visitors, Hardcastle Crags offers a beautiful wooded valley, or East Riddlesden Hall, a little oasis in a busy urban area. Both can be reached in around half an hour. There is also a cloakroom, shower room, kitchen, dining room and a sitting room with a gas fire and panoramic views of the countryside and river stour. There is a large, enclosed garden, featuring a large hot tub and outdoor seating area, as well as off-road parking for two cars.
Saskia’s Place is the perfect location for an indulgent escape to Suffolk. Brantham village has a small village shop which is open daily. Larger supermarkets and shops can be found in Manningtree, Ipswich, and Colchester. A few minutes’ walk from the cottage is the Brantham Bull pub, an inn dating from the 16th century.
Jimmy’s Farm, owned and run by Jamie Oliver’s friend Jimmy Doherty, is off the A137 to Ipswich at Wherstead. You can take a trip to Alton Water, a large reservoir, with nature trails, cycle hire, sailing and footpaths.
There are several attractions in the towns of Ipswich and Colchester, including a Norman Castle, Roman ruins, and a zoo, while historic Ipswich is home to the historic Christchurch Mansion, as well as a newly revitalized waterfront. For security purposes the owner has CCTV installed covering the exterior of the property.

The School House is a truly wonderful detached, Grade II listed stone built cottage situated in a rural position in the hamlet of Bradnop, less than 1 mile from the picturesque Peak District National Park. Thoughtfully and extensively renovated throughout to offer spacious, comfortable accommodation and even boasts its very own private hot tub for guests use. Many of the original features have been carefully retained including beams, exposed stone walls and fireplace to name but a few. There is a well-kept enclosed garden at the front of the property and a paddock area to the rear.
The small and pretty rural hamlet of Bradnop is situated on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Close by you will find the market town of Leek with its array of antique shops and quirky crafts. The thriving picturesque market town of Ashbourne and the spa town of Buxton are within driving distance. For families and the more adventurous, Alton Towers is only a 5 mile drive away.
Nearby you will find superb walks with Dovedale, the beautiful Manifold Valley, and the popular Manifold Cycle Track, all within easy reach. There are lots of pretty villages to explore one being Hartington where you will find tasty local cheeses in the village cheese shop, also close by there are several pubs serving fantastic home cooked food. This stunning, detached, barn conversion has been lovingly crafted to provide a beautiful holiday home for all the family. Spread over four levels, there’s a central ‘atrium’ with views out over the peaceful countryside, with a glass-sided lift connecting all levels – ideal if a member of your party is less mobile or uses a wheelchair. There are wonderful A frame joists throughout this light and airy property, with the main living room, dining room and kitchen being in the central part of the house. On the ground floor there’s also a lovely sun room opening out onto a balcony overlooking the surrounding countryside, a games and media room with PlayStation 4, table football, electric organ, and a curved 65" Smart TV with Blu-ray player – ideal for the full cinema experience! A little further afield is Llandegla Forest with its mountain bike centre and great walks, whilst the historic city of Chester with its famous city walls, cathedral and unique shops in the Rows is well worth a visit. The town of Great Torrington is only a short drive away and has most amenities you may require. The larger regional town of Barnstaple has a busy high street, the Pannier Market and famous Butchers Row. There are numerous places of interest close by including the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. For the younger ones a visit to the Big Sheep or Milky Way Adventure Parks is a good option. There is walking on Dartmoor or hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail, and there is also golf and fishing available locally.
