Westgate Cottage is a charming 17th-century stone built holiday cottage located in the picturesque village of St Lawrence, at the southernmost tip of the island. This Shepherd’s Hut with stunning views and shared indoor pool has direct access to Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty South Coast paths, pubs and shops. The living area has stable doors from which to enjoy the uninterupted valley views, and the dining furniture can be used inside or out. The bedroom area with wardrobe and storage, has a double bed made up with quality linens, and can be stored vertically for extra space. The garden is enclosed and partly sheltered and has a fire pit and undercover area with fairy lights, worktop, sink, BBQ (including starter coals) and loungers to soak up the great views. This is an area with low light pollution and the Protected Sky Status for star gazing! Visitors have direct access to 2 acre dog walking paddocks and further Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Isle of Wight paths. There is a shared indoor heated swimming pool and private use can be arranged with the owner prior to arrival.

You are welcome to join the owners for a walk or cycle to the nearby St Catherine’s Oratory or ‘Pepperpot’, as its known locally, or into the close by villages of Whitell and Niton, with many options to venture further afield.

Seaport Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to four guests across two bedrooms and is dog friendly too, ideal for two couples or a family without small children. Located close to the seafront between Ventnor and Bonchurch, it’s situated on the southern side of the Isle of Wight, right in the heart of the famous Undercliff, much of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The cottage has an interesting multi-tiered garden to its side and rear with steep stairs that climbs upwards into the hill behind it, at the top tier of the garden there is a summerhouse where you can choose to sit within or perch yourself outside on the patio, and enjoy the fabulous panoramic views over the English Channel. Internally the accommodation comprises of a ground floor cloakroom, kitchen, open plan dining/living area whilst upstairs there is the family bathroom, a double room and a twin room with zip and link beds that can be pushed together to create a super king on request.
The location and cottage offer truly great views out to sea and it is a short walk down to Wheelers Bay, the fisherman’s cottages and Ventnor’s popular sandy beach. Ventnor town and esplanade is just over half a mile walk away from Seaport Cottage. Here you will find a number of lovely seaside tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the seafront, including the well-known Spyglass Inn. There are also some quirky and bespoke shops, an award winning park and a children’s paddling pool. The town, which for the most part is built on the steep hill leading to the beach retains its original seaside charm and makes a great day out for all the family. Woodpecker’s Rest is a spacious, detached bungalow which is able to comfortably accommodate up to six guests. It is situated within the charming rural village of Whitwell, towards the southern side of the Isle of Wight, approximately 3 miles north west of the seaside town of Ventnor. The area is a firm favourite with cyclists, walkers and ramblers due to its close proximity to the southern most tip of the island, with an ever-changing coastal landscape boasting breathtaking panoramic views and a wealth of wildlife.
The open plan living and dining space means you can cook up those home-cooked recipes and then gather the family for an evening in front of the 50" Smart TV. There is plenty of seating with a table and six chairs, a four-seater sofa and a two-seater sofa. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, the second bedroom has a standard double bed and the third bedroom is perfect for children, with a set of bunk beds.
Within the village you will find the oldest pub on the island, dating back from the 15th century. If you enjoy a bit of fishing then you should most certainly take advantage of the local fishing lakes; three lakes covering 1½ acres where the waters are well stocked with carp, roach and tench.
